This year is the 1st time I've ever gave it the time of day so I'm a novice ma-sel. But here goes(anyone who knows better please, correct me):

The idea of a One Day International (ODI) is that that team who bats 1st (decided by a coin toss and decision from Captain, much like football) has 50 overs (1 over = 8 balls) to score as many runs as possible. However, if all your batsman are bowled out or caught before the completion of the 50 overs, that's your batting done.

Then it's up to the other team to beat your total within their 50 overs. Of course, if the 2nd batting team hits their "target" of runs early, play stops and they are declared the winner. I think. :fear:

I'd just also like to say well done to the jocks for a brave effort against the might of S Africa, getting their highest ever world cup total against the No 1 ranked team. No bad. :50:

Well, looks like Scotland have * it against Holland for *'s sake. All out for 136, that's less than we got against Oz or South Africa.

Wow this is horrible. The police are now saying Bob Woolmer was murdered. They are saying he was strangled.

Pakistani newspapers were saying that 3 days ago. They also said that a Malaysian bookie has been arrested, and snake venom may have been used to subdue Woolmer.
Also the manuscript for the book he was writing went missing days before.
    Dodgy business,

Tsk tsk. All you who said that cricket was boring.

In the football world cup you had to wait until after the tournament for that Columbian player to be killed. Now during, that's an action packed sport!

nah, not even if a full scale war broke out, I honestly have the upmost respect for anyone who has the endurance to watch a full live match, i can only take the highlights but i must admit this world cup has already caught my attention and i think im starting to get soft.

Anyone know who Ireland will be playing in the next round, wouldnt mind a bit of engerland!

Ive never watched Cricket in my life but the stuff about the Pakistan coach is dodgy.

Appartently someone close to him done it as there was no forced entry and no valubles taken. Plus he was staying on the 12th Floor of the Hotel in which you need a Key-Card to get up to via the lift.

Cos us cricketing folk are not as common as you my fine fella.

And we like to keep the peasant's confused.

Have to dash now those pheasant's won't shoot themselves ye knows
