Just got back from holidays all and catching up on the chat. Saw the Euro draws. Don't think we'll have a problem progressing with the draw we have, but it occurred to me....Could we take Spurs right now over 2 legs?

    They are competition favs.

    What do you think?

Highly unlikely. It would take a minor miracle with a backs-to-the-wall performance at White heart lane and a narrow victory at Paradise.

Not a chance, simply because they play at a much higher level week in and week out.

No. I think the very low ebb of the SPL in general and lack of playing good European teams recently is disguising just how weak our defense is.

No chance we're miles behind most english teams, we get by because of how poor the rest of the spl is.

We would definitely give them a very tough game at CP, the crowd would ensure that. Over the two legs though Spurs have too many good players in our side. Also we dont play at the high level they do week in and out. Sadly.

Hope they wallop they prciks fae Edinburoo.

A - they're not playing week in week out at the moment

    B - we are 100% (2 tough away wins)

C - we have conceded exactly zero competitive goals

We would give them a tie for sure, methinks.

    Stunned by the pessimism here.

We can take ANY English team over 2 legs on our day, simply because they play a similar type of football as us and it comes down to a battle most of the time.

We struggle against teams from countries that know how to keep the ball for long periods of time, - Spain, Italy etc. English teams, with the exception of Arsenal, don't do that.

    Bring them * on.

yes i think we could as its football anything can happen.

however comparing quality then i would say we are a long way off.

however i dont think they deserve there title as competition favs!

Not much evidence of us being any good against anyone outside the SPL for a couple of years now. My main concern is our defense. Dont forget we have no decent keeper, we have Aberdeens LB with a bit of a season, a very old * Swede, a Norwegian novice with just a few games, a really poor couple of dutch duds among our main defensive options. We have already just lost our LB. I think the sheer crapness of our defensive pool is being glossed over. Kelvin Wilson could be decent but the rest are a rag tag bunch IMO.

Were Liverpool and Blackburn not playing at this higher level when we saw them out of the UEFA cup ? Were Man Utd when we beat and drew with them in the CL ? Of course we could beat them , it would be tough but YES !!
