After yesterdays performance, and the performances over recent weeks, are you confident ahead of this upcoming tie against the enemy.

Both teams, admittedly, have been woeful these past few weeks and I wondered what you think the outcome may be ?

Also the line-up you would play. Nakamura? Maloney? Naylor?

    Thoughts ?

    I am confident, i'm expecting a win.

Is Maloney fit again? Some say that Nakamura can be MIA in OF games, and it is to an extent true i suppose, but i would definately have him starting, he gives so much to the team and when he really fancies it he can be unplayeable! As for Naylor, he's all we've got really.

    Not confident at all

we're defending poorly, our normally super-reliable goalie is in a sticky patch and we only have one striker who looks capable of scoring.

Come next sunday when Im * out my * tho, no doubt ill be confident as *! :icon_mrgreen:

Anything could happen with so much at stake, we'll need a piece of magic like a Naka special or a McDonald goal like the game at Ibrox to win this I think.

our last few performances doesn't exactly inspire me with confidence, especially at the back but in saying that, we're at home and the mankies aren't exactly amazing at the moment either so id have to say we'll take the 3 points

    I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried.

We need to get a grip of the game early on, move the ball about quickly and not allow them a chance to settle. If Nakamura plays I hope he's really up for it, or he'll just become invisible again.

Got a feeling this one will be won in the middle of the park though so hope we see Crosas and Brown stamping their authority all over it.

Anyone else think the fact we're going in knowing a win isn't inevitable is a good thing?

I'm never over confident going in to any old firm game as anything can happen. The first game this season is proof of that.

Home advantage, and the carrot of a 5 point lead should spur us on a bit, surely?

not confident as such but just the same as i approach every old firm game

just dying for the team to win and hoping that the players give there all like we would if we got the chance to play in that match

"Only a fool would try to predict the score in an Old Firm game!"

Since when did form ever matter in Old Firm games? When the 22 players are out on the grass the only thing that matters is the present, the game at hand. We can win, and I think we will.

    My ideal team would be:

    --------------Boruc
    Hinkel--Caldwell--McManus--Naylor
    -Naka---Brown---Hartley---Robson
    -------McDonald--JVoH

    M. Brown
    O'Dea
    Loovens
    Crosas
    McGeady
    Maloney
    Samaras

    OR

    --------------Boruc
    Hinkel--Caldwell--McManus--Naylor
    Robson--Brown---Hartley--McGeady
    ---------McDonald--JVoH

    M. Brown
    O'Dea
    Loovens
    Crosas
    Nakamura
    Maloney
    Samaras

Rangers will turn up looking to kick us off the park and a midfield with both McGeady and Nakamura risks being overrun. Brown, Hartley and Robson are made for these games and the three of them surely must start to stop Rangers winning the midfield battle. With Naka' going to Japan this week I would rather see the lineup with McGeady, and keep Nakamura on the bench to change the game.

Either way it would allow McGeady or Naka to drift inside and leave Robson, Brown and Hartley to mop up. McGeady can then run at defenders, or Naka can link up the play.

McDonald and JVoH are our most effective forward partnership and biggest goal threats, and must start. However McDonald will be tired so we MUST get a goal away in the first half. Samaras, frankly, has no chance of scoring in this game.

Maloney is a very good impact player and coming off the bench can change the game for us, which is all he can do right now as he isn't fit enough to start this one. Crosas, too, gives us options to change the midfield, were the game will be won or lost.

I wasn't particularly confident going into the last one in all honesty, and look what happened there. I know for a fact we have the ability to go there and take the points but at the minute i wouldn't go into a Hamilton game or a St Mirren game 'confident'. It's the toss of a coin the now which is * considering the size and status of the club but there it is.

Not in the slightest unfortunately, we will still win the league though.
