    Hey MagicBallBhoy,

Yeah, but I think McGlinchey's NZ link was a bit similar to Fox's Scottish link.

Anyway, as a sort of progress report, he's been going really well out here in the A-League. I've seen him play for the Central Coast Mariners (ironically managed by a huge Rangers man, Lawrie McKinna, a Scot - who is a gentleman and one of our best advertisements for the game here) 2ce against my team, Sydney Fc, and both times he was the mariners best player. He'll go close to winning player of the year here. I went to watch the mariners play today (primarily because they were playing against Robbie Fowler and his team - Fowler is the team) and they missed McGlinchey big time.

    Cheers

I watched a bit of the game and Bahrain dominated possession. I wouldn't think Bahrain would be that good compared to NZ. I don't care if they were playing in Bahrain, I don't think you can say they played well. I saw way too many shots on goal and NZ were lucky to get a draw. Killen didn't exactly impress either in my opinion.

mate i was in bahrain 4 weeks earlier than this last year & the temp was 50 degrees outside, u could feel your eyeballs dry up in seconds so i'm not surprised that bahrain dominated posession.

mcglinchey had the opportunity to play for nz a few years before he did, in a match against brazil but at the time he felt he could still make the impact for the hoops and no doubt get in to the scotland team.

it would be ironic if he gets to the wc with nz!!

I feel like it would be great for nz to get to wc but they dont really give a * here about it, if scotland were in a play off it would be a huge build up etc but here it barely gets a 1min slot on the sports news!! The football season here is from april till september and then it STOPS and all the the weans go and play tennis and cricket till the next year, *?
NZ have only played something like 8 games to get to this point, a bit of a flaw in fifas qualifying sections tbh.

In a way it would be better if a country that cares got to south africa, but things dont always work like that!

Good luck to New Zealand in the second leg now. I wouldn't be surprised if Killen ends up heading home the goal that sends them to the World Cup Finals.

Having said all the above no disrespect to New Zealand but they are not a quality side yet their pathway to making the World Cup Finals is a cakewalk coming out of Oceania and then only having to beat a mediocre Asian team in a playoff really to make it.

Again that just shows how corrupt FIFA are. Australia who have money and power can't get it done so FIFA says yes we can move you over to Asia no problem so you can the ability to go after a direct spot in the finals plus get better regular competition to help you improve. One rule for the smaller countries and then roll over and say uncle when bigger wealthier nations want something else.
