Rogne was terrible, it was the wrong decision to start him in front of Loovens.

I stated on here that the failure to bring in a centre half in the transfer window could cost us. People shot that down and said we were well covered and players would come back from injury, blah blah blah.

It is still our weak spot, 4 years after we said it was our weak spot.

i am also of this opinion and obviously so was lennon that he brought loovens on for him purely because jelavic had the beating of him the whole game. i dont think we played that badly yesterday but we seemed to run out of ideas in the 2nd half - you can also wait 100 years and never see a goal go in like jelavics. just our luck on the day we need a bit rub of the green to stay in the match and the ball decides to turn towards goal.

in no way, shape or form the end of the world though. id much rather have won the match but ill deffo settle for a league and cup double which is most deffo within our range.

Thomas Rogne was posted missing for the majority of the game yesterday, with jelavic consistently getting the better of him. I think that this left Mulrgrew in a very difficult position.
We need Dan to return ASAP

Rogne wasn't great yesterday, I agree, but he's had very few poor games for Celtic so I'm perfectly willing to cut him some slack. I certainly don't want to see him dropped for Glenn Loovens that's for sure.

Even if he's not 100% fit?

Loovens is a bomb scare but I'd rather have a fully fit player playing, everyone has said for years that we need to sort out our defence yet it still hasn't been done, that is what's not good enough.

In most circumstances I wouldn't pick Loovens but the fact we have no other CB that's actually fully fit then he needs to play.

I reckon Mulgrew had a decent game. Rogne's lack of speed scares me, he's slower than any CB I've seen. He needs to improve his strength cause he was out muscled yesterday every time he was up against Jelavic. I'm sure this will come with age though!
If only Billy Davies released Wilson, we would not have this problem.

for the majority of that game mulgrew had to cover rogne, rogne was the one that was pish yesterday. Agreed but, i want a new cb to partner majstorovic for next season, e.g richard dunee. Infact, naw i want rid of majstorovic too, faye is out of contract at the end of the season. Dunne and faye please.

rogne better than mulgrew what game were you watching yelavic had the beating of them all day long rogne looked totaly out of his depth we were lucky it was only 2-1 our centre of defence is awful high balls were a problem all day long look what happened against motherwell the same we are gonna have problems there till we sort it years and years of the same thing shut your eyes at every corner kick buy a couple of decent defenders who can head a * ball away its not rocket science

i thought he was one of our better players

commons never showed up and brown was ineffectual

i think they caught us majorly by surprise with their (line up and way they setup and played against us) and the fact lennon wasn't on the touchline to rearrange the team, had a negative effect.

walter outsmarted us AGAIN the *, he's made a habit of it in his time at rangers

the thing is if we had to lose one of the 3 i'm glad its this one and who knows the defeat might serve to drive us on to the double, hopefully

He never outsmarted anyone mate.everyone could see he would line up this way due to Bartley being injured and foster cup tied.

Charlie did ok however I do not think he has the ability to be our first choice CB longterm.

have to disagree with this.rogne was woeful.......jelavic used his cheating, diving,go down at the slightest whiff of contact or opponents breath cos am a big retarded *,clown,*,face like the hunchback of nottradam, experience and rogne couldn't handle it but he'll have learned a big lesson...........

break the * legs next time mate :50:

Its no surprises that since Rogne and Maj have either both, or at least 1, been out the team we have conceded a few softer goals. They were superb in the 2-0 at Ibrox. Here is hopeing they both get back to match fitness. Mulgrew and Loovens at the back in a cup final is nothing short of scandalous.

I know he got caught out at the goal but i thought he did well, he actually bailed Rogne out on a couple of occasions.
