"A ROW has erupted over former Labour Cabinet minister and Celtic chairman Lord John Reid using taxpayers' cash to pay for chauffeur-driven travel to football stadiums across Scotland to watch his team."

Taxpayers hit by £4,000 bill for Reid's luxury trips to see Celtic - Scotsman.com News

John Reid has now got to go. If anyone thinks this war monger uses "limo's" for security reason they are deluded. Do they think we are stupid? The Limo company uses normal cars, not security protected, and normal drivers, not trained security men. Again, although not against the rules or the law, this is a stain on our club. This man has blood on his hands and now he is stealing from the tax payer to watch our Club! He is unfit for the office he holds at Celtic and should go now. He has brought nothing to Celtic that is good. :47:

Ach, at least he's not committing war crimes these days.

That's got to be worth something.

don't know where you arrive at that mate, and as for blood on his hands is a load of crap, John Reid got on in government showing us all the way, he held high profile jobs that are not available to many Tim's, and might have plenty to grass about, should they poke the fire. if he was awarded limo, he used them, i am sure there are others using the limos to cricket, rugby, thertre, and such like tax payers money is a great word, when the * that run the country generally have accounts out with the UK, denying "us" extra tax.I think its a case lets get at Celtic, where as across the road have spent there tax money, and might end up Scott free or 6p in the pound, end of the day no * bothered about that, or bank loans billions mate
just gutter snipe journalists looking for promotion. he ain"t brought shame to Celtic mate, and he can leave if he likes there are not many out there, that would better him as what he dose, at the club. and him being one of our own a prodigal son.

Its the old drip drip of the anti Celtic story line.

Even better if its something they know a section of the support is not too keen on.
They even tried to stitch up Fergus over a story about the steel used in building the new Celtic Park.

    Drip drip drip......

he is a high profile terrorist target being in the goverment when the country was at the highest terrorist threat in years. The money wasnt spent on limos alone it also included security protection personnel.

Former home secretaries, defence secretaries and Northern Ireland secretaries face a continuing and significant threat level. John Reid served as all three and was covered by personal protection arrangements

i think reid offers a fair bit of intellectual clout to our club. we are not going to agree with everything he does or says but maybe we are making headway with the sfa due to him being around. just playing devils advocate here.

    * are you on man how is he a war criminal for gods sake guys get a grip i dont agree with all that governments do but i think some of ya are takling this a bit too litteraly i mean did he decide all this on his own? I honestly dont know john read but he is working for my club and as with players what he did before celtic has nothing to do with celtic . We have all done things im sure we regret thats part of being an * you make mistakes but i for one would hate to think that i would have my mistakes held against me for ever . He was part of the government who decided to go to war and my own opinion is whether they had proof or not when they did saddam needed to be taken out and we can argue about the rights and wrongs of it but lets be honest * does it have to do with celtic????

I'll be honest, ever since Reid became chairman the club has slowly got worse and worse on the playing field. I'm not going to hold grudges against him for his past, but I don't think he has done any good to our club apart from throw stupid abuse at the huns every now and then

regardless of everything Reid has done outwith Celtic FC, what has he actually done to the benefit of our football club? He has presided over 2 and a half years of utter, utter dross. In fact the 3IAR season was a joke until the last 7 weeks. We have stagnated under him.
