Celtic's proposed signing of Real Madrid midfielder could collapse if Newcastle United make a last minute attempt to sign the player.
Gravesen was in Glasgow yesterday to complete a medical with the Scottish champions but nothing has been confirmed by the player or the club.
A fee of around £2 million has supposedly been agreed with Real Madrid and Gravesen's wage demands, reported to be around £45,000 a week, have been accepted by Celtic.
But the club are still waiting on Gravesen to sign a contract with Celtic.
The player though, says English clubs Newcastle United, Middlesborough. Bolton and his old club Everton are also very much interested.
His agent said last night: "There may still be a surprise to come. We will see what happens on Tuesday."
