I'm pretty sure Thomson grew up a Hearts fan as well mate. Heard that mentioned a few times.

I never knew that, couple of us were talking about his ibrox showing on here when maloney was hacked a couple times and we were physically battered. He didn't seem neutral that day:50:

The people already blaming the ref before the game has even begun are really not helping with the whole 'paranoid' stereotype.

I haven't seen anyone blaming the ref. What can he be blamed for at this stage? I would say looking back on games against Oldco, it's no wonder we are thinking the worst could happen though.

    Just highlighting the probable possibilities..

Even with some questionable decisions against us I'd still be majorly * at not beating these and my anger would be pointing more to home than the referee to be honest..

He * out of proper tackles, he's done it several times through the period he has now been getting a regular game.

I don't think he lacks effort and he can put himself about when he wants to but the crowd won't be slow on getting on his back the first time there's a ball there to be won and he refuses to put a leg in. I hope it doesn't happen but it wouldn't surprise me if it does.

As I said as well though, he is technically better than anything in the Hun side and he also has a nice composure about him on the ball so he may very well put in a MOTM performance. I'm just suggesting I would rather a guy, in Mulgrew, who has been over this course before and been decisive in a number of victories over them as well.

This is the type of attitude I certainly won't be taking.

Setting yourself up for a fall.

Does being a Hearts fan mean he would be a neutral :smiley-laughing002:

I don't think Thomson is a bad referee, he's the best in Scotland. I don't believe he is biased either.

He's 42 and will probably retire soon. Count your blessings because all we will have left is Collum, Madden, Dallas etc etc

Bitton should be one of the first names on the team sheet.

One of the best first touches in the team, calm, composed and can pick a pass.

If people don't want us to be drawn into a kicking match, then why play combative players only in midfield?

The Zombies have never faced a player of Bitton's technical ability, they'll not know how to handle it, I reckon.

That was unreal. Looking in the complete opposite direction, yet is able to award a penalty. Lafferty's tackle on Hinkel, Maloney's penalties at Ibrox, Brown being sent off for nout. Then there was the game Bougherra was booked early in the game, and then went on to commit another 7 fouls without seeing a second yellow. Mostly on Robbie Keane if I remember correctly. That is just off the top of my head.

Who was the referee when Kevin Thompson went right through Robbie Keane then pushed him to the ground when he tried to get up? The tackle should have been a straight red, and the push could have possibly warranted a red, but if I remember correctly, he either got a yellow or a warning.

Never forget Bougherra in that game. He played * keepy up with Robbie Keane and got away with it. * hate that *.
That sticks out in my mind as one of the VERY worst if not THEE worst refs performances of all time. Penalty was enough to get him retired never mind the rest of his *..Utter * !!:31:

David healy booting/assaulting forrest by the main stand, booked..
The list is endless, always remember Craig Moore, big aussie * kicking Henrik up in the air on the halfway line at that dump from behind, they always got away with being animals..

Reckon sevco will play 5-4-1 to keep it tight and play for set pieces with daly up top, or long ball for misser to chase like a headless chicken.

Also reckon they will throw bell in goals for this although hes just returned to training.

Anyway im taking celtic -3 for this game

Looking at there match thread and they want to target ambrose as they think he'll be right back:56:

Van dijk is the only one that carries the ball from defence. Denayer, izzy and lustig don't then :56:
