Bang on mate about the one on one. They would have capitulated even more i think and started a war.

Football has indeed moved on mate but that mob never will. They are indeed "Total Scum":shamrock:

Second half was treated like a friendly. As a match there was no competition, which probably led to boredom amongst our players. Would have loved to have stuck 5 or 6 past them. But just glad it's over, potential banana skin avoided.... far easier than most people probably imagined. Most of us knew we would win but never would you imagine they wouldn't even have a shot at goal.

They really are a pathetic excuse of a club, from boardroom to playing staff to fans.

Terrible referee performance as well, which suited one team as usual.

    A job well done.

I'm not really getting why some folk are not happy with the scoreline???

We've beaten the new club with the same bigot support, put them out the cup, dominated possession, made them look embarrassingly bad for most of the game, and sent them home without a shot on target and with their faces red and dreading work today.

    What more do people want?

Celtic did the job we all wanted. Played them off the park and put them out the cup.

    That'll do nicely.

Exactly. I * hate being associated with them. The pitch was a throw back to that era, their horrendous tactics on the pitch of kick anything that moves then hoof it up the park and their * hate filled singing in the stands. Its honestly like a battle field, not a football match. Lets not be associated with these has been, vile lot. We are a progressive club. They are a hate filled, stuck in the past 'institution'.

Aye, and we had everyone back defending it. So they basically left 3 players marking nobody :smiley-laughing002:

    It wasn't really though.

I know it was rangers and all that, but they're a first division outfit without a doubt. They were well beaten, much like any team that has that kind of squad would be.

It could easily have been 4 or 5, in the second half the onus was on the huns to try and do something to get back into the game, but they never had the quality to create anything, we never had to move out of second gear, it's the first time i've watched this fixture and sat back relaxed knowing they were going out the cup and they couldn't do *-all about it.

That game was 2-0 but could so easily have been 5-0 at half time if it wasn't for some bad luck and a poor ref.
They should also have had the * elbows sent off.
The gulf between us and them was there to see no matter the scoreline.
We could play them them 50 times and lose maybe once.

The best part about the game was it was only 2 because we only wanted it to be 2.

As professional a performance from a Celtic side as I have seen in many a year. Disciplined, mature and we barely put a foot wrong. Scored a couple of goals then dictated the rest of the match.

Not once did I feel under threat, even knowing if they had scored they'd have been right back in it. They had nothing for us, we bossed them.

I was exactly the same. I knew they weren't good enough to cause us any problems second half, and I think our players knew that as well, as long as we didn't do anything stupid.

I know, but i still think i could have been manager for the day and we'd have won 2-0, such was the gap between the sides.
Yes, we got the job done as you say, but we all knew the outcome before the start. We knew we would win, we knew they were *........and we generally to a man were saying that this kind of scoreline would be disappointing.......and that is how i feel.I am happy with the dominance etc, but the pitch is a poor excuse. When you have that much control you should still have more to show for it.
Im not losing sleep over it, i just feel it was an opportunity lost.
Im not unhappy, just a bit deflated. It will pass when we lift the trophy.

I enjoyed the game. Would've liked a couple more goals though just to get it right round they dirty, diving, cheating *. The only thing that got to me about yhe game wan the way black kept hitting the deck with the slightest touch and the dirty tactics they resorted to in the second half. I honastly believe if yhe hadn't started diving and trying to cheat we would've scored more. Tbh we should have been 5 up in the first half alone. Grith should've been aloud through, johansen should've scored and VVD should have scored his header

    You're exaggerating.

Also, I would have to seriously question any Celtic fan who's over riding emotion today is to be deflated.

Players just bounce off him, it's unreal. I've said it multiple times but imagine him and Wanyama in the same side.
