Love Christmas, but love getting out to watch Celtic at this time of year it's the dugs baws. Hopefully we give them a doin and big John gets back on the scoresheet, Griffiths and Scepovic deserve an outing though (don't mean outed as a racist)

A couple of games the forwards have been off the pace. This game is time to make up for previous failures in front of goal.

Should take goals aff them!!!

I would love to see Scepovic start, he has been looking more dangerous recently as has Griffths.

I know you are taking the hand but that is a fairly accurate representation of our shape. VVD is too deep though, he should be at in the opposition half!!

 

first of all need to change that defence and get mr clumsy out of it pronto fed up with him giving cheap goals away .

 

Thats basically exactly how we already play, only Matthews plays behind Forrest yet does nothing. If it was Forrest playing behind Griffiths atleast there'd be more attacking threat on the right.

Even as someone mentions, the formation should really look like....

As Van Dijk mostly plays in centre mid anyway leaving Efe/Denayer at the back himself most of the game.

Thats how we are set up for most of our games. Even Izaguirre usually ahead of Stokes as whenever we are countered it's usually Stokes who gets back.

I dont get the complaints about Izzy's defensive work. How many goals against us have come from the left? Izzy may be up front, but he's also in the back when needed. That's because Izzy is omnipresent, just like *.

Its true though we rarely concede from that area. Id say 5 of our back 4 are actually very good defenders for our level Lustig, Matthews, Denayer, Van Dijk and Izaguirre - if Mourinho became our manager I dont think he would replace any of them he'd just make them stay back and play much deeper and more solid.

Our defensive problem is that their is no defence.

1 guy often Ambrose or Denayer are left back alone while others go up the park, then we get counter-attacked and * are running everywhere trying to get back like wee ants who've just had their ant hill kicked over.

But thats just how we play now under Deila, so it'll always be like that until he changes the system.

Under Lennon we always kept our centre-halves and full-backs in some sort of line, even if it was over the half-way line. Now though Izaguirre is playing further forward than he ever has, Van Dijk is playing like a centre-mid and Matthews is also standing further up the park but even then he's playing within his shell and not getting involved, we could probably leave him back in our own half and it'd make us more solid while making no difference to our attack as he never does anything now anyway.

 

There was a game the other week there where literally every Celtic outfield player was in the opposition half. :smiley-laughing002:
