    I would like to see Kayal in for Bitton if only to give him a rest. I fear we will not see Kayal start for us again though.

    Surely Wakaso or Tonev must start over Stokes who is in dire form. I know he got an assist and a goal at the weekend but seriously other than that he has been * poor last five games or so.

    Therefore he may find it difficult to play 2 games in 4 days. Makes perfect sense to me. Its called match fitness.

    The only way to gain match fitness is to play matches.

    Has to be the first time I've ever seen someone suggest giving a player a rest that's played 1 90 minute match in months.

    Had we there been a week as there often is between games he would be fine. Match fitness does not need to be rushed. He would not necessarily benefit from playing too much over a short period of time.

    One game in months and then three games in six days does not seem ideal to me.

    I'm not disputing that I just feel that Stokes far too often is anonymous for much of the match and constantly makes basic errors whereas Id much rather get a good look at Tonev who I think looks a half decent player with pace who can go by defenders something stokes doesn't really possess.

    If he had just been returning from an injury I would agree, like Deila has done with Forrest. However, Bitton has been fit, he will just lack match sharpness, and the only way to get this, is by playing games, so there isn't any need to be resting him.

    I think it's looking fairly ominous now for Kayal. Pity, because he was arguably our best player when he first arrived, and has done well any time he has been called upon this season also, but that was last week Brown was suspended, and he didn't start, and yesterday, Mulgrew was injured, and he didn't even get on, the writing appears to be on the wall, and I would be shocked if he is here come the end of January.

    Still a young guy, no doubt towards the end of the season he'll get another look in..
    Also our youngsters are playing high profile tournaments against the likes of sunderland/everton and villareal plus he's been away at the euros with Scotland..
    We must feel his development is better back there for the moment taking all that in to account..

    Saying that, was he not on the bench yesterday, was joking about with Stokes at the end..
