Celtic v Dundee United 16 Aug 12.45pm Live on Sky 3

Our second SPL fixture & first home game of the season. After maybe a flattering win on Wednesday we still need to get things right in preparation for the CL play off on Wednesday.

With that in mind I hope we start and finish with whoever is likely to play next week. Always a chance someone will get injured but hopefully we can get another win under the belt and improve on our performance.

 

United have the capacity to do us if we don't find a formation suited to our players..

If we are going to persist with this playing style I would start with a similar team who finished the saints match, I think that team looked better tbh. I'm going with a score draw.. 2-2.

The one benefit to starting so poorly is that i'll be genuinely up for this game, makes it more exciting knowing we're nowhere near looking at a nailed on win!

In all seriousness, Jackie's got these boys playing very well, a victory here would put us in good stead for Maribor.

I'd like to try that, Ambrose as DM may work nicely. I thought Berget had a good physical presence about him on Wednesday and would be better at holding up play and laying it off than Stokes was. Seems to have a good touch and be adept at short, quick interchanges

I like this though I'd maybe put Bitton in for Derk and move McGregor forward. Alternatively I'd go:

Personally I didn't put him in mines because I thought it was a straight fight between him and McGregor for the behind the striker role. McGregor is currently playing better than him so I put him in.

Wouldn't be unhappy to see him starting obviously.

 

Only been a handful of games mate. I'm sure he'll come good soon

I just think that we need his experience for Marribor and we'll need him fit so even give him 60/70 minutes against United. But you're right, wee McGregor is looking good.
