Going to be asking a lot from this game, especially without Maeda, but having our entire defence fully fresh alongside Idah helps a lot.

2-0 us, Idah and Kuhn.

 

Taylor and Hatate will start, Bernardo might be injured too, hopefully not, we'll find out in coming days

 

The team pretty much picks itself at this stage.

I would love to be more confident going into this and with Kuhn and Jota it feels like we can cause problems. However Bayern are top class and we need everyone on their game to take them on. It really feels like this could be a 2-2 draw.

 

Taylor has been better recently but the thought of him going up against Olise is genuinely terrifying, he'll get shredded at will. Need a bit of steel and physicality for this game, so think Schlupp should start instead. Plus he played with Olise for years at Palace.

The issue for me is how lightweight we are. Engels, McGregor, Hatate, Kuhn and Jota are all soft as *. That's half the team! Our only chance is if we play like we did vs Leipzig (but on steroids), defend like we did vs Atalanta, and Bayern have an off night. Basically a perfect performance needed. Play anything like we did vs Dortmund and Villa then it's curtains.

Keep them from scoring. No stupid mistakes, no panicking or getting caught like deers in the headlights. Play our game and be SOLID!

Team picks itself

 

A famous 4-1 win on our away to knocking them out. The talk of Europe and just wait to the next tie.

 

Bayern are not conquering all comers this season. They've lost a few games in the Champions league already and they've not been as devastating as you'd usually expect. They can be got at. That's not in question.

I expect them to be calm and unfazed by the crowd or the noise. Our press must be very good but we're missing our top man for that. We will get a chance, most probably chances - plural. When we do we can't be wasteful because they won't be.

The outcome of our matches usually depends on how we play. If we play to our best, we beat any and every team in Scotland... regardless of how they play. If we play, we win... usually.
Well we're on the receiving end of that now. If Bayern play to their capabilities, if they play well..... then I don't think it'll matter how we play cause they'll win
Our only chance is if Bayern are not at their very best... that would give us as chance at least.

 

If Bernardo is fit to start, he should play. His upper body strength is useful in attack and defense.

 

Think we should change formation...would love us to go toe to toe but amount times previously bypassed midfield? Bayern put they chances away... give Bayern respect they deserve put extra man in middle at start...see what happens...always subs bout 60min mark then go for it with normal formation...

 

If we are to have a chance Rodgers will have to set up a game plan to counter Kompanys system. Under Bayern he tends to have his whole outfield team camped inside the opposition half with his fullbacks pushed all the way leaving both CB (Upamecano & Kim) exposed. They will have the bulk of possession but if we win the ball back & counter we can get in behind them. It will take a disciplined defensive performance like Atalanta with the attacking prowess of Leipzig to try & get something.

 

We will WIN

 

Guess we'll need to go long a lot. I hope we do, anyway. Short passes will be hard to pull off.

Start off being compact then 2nd half schlupp off GT back n our normal formation...
As much as hate Sevco..In europe always have rigid formation which as pish as they are makes them hard to break down...

 

Game will be 6-0 but I’m not telling you who to

 

Think we’ll be bang in a very close game until we make subs. McCowan and Bernardo are the only ones that won’t really drop our level.

I still believe we can get a result. Buzzing for it.
