I am totally disgusted at the attitude of some people on here, towards Neil Lennon. I have supported Celtic for just about 50 years now, and think its shamefull that so-called Celtic fans, are behaving in the manner, some are on here. Whoever, or whatever group, if there was a group involved, in last night's flag scenario, should hang their heads in total shame, for making our club, and it's fans, look like criminals in the eyes of the whole world. I back Neil Lennon 100% on this issue, and I would say 95% of all Celtic fans back him also. I am really pig-sick, when I see the damage, this tiny minority, of so-called fans, are doing to our club. I will never, lose my pride at being a Celtic supporter, and I will fight to ensure this shame ends. Theres no way the Green Brigade get the full blame for this embarrasing scenario, although at times they have been in the wrong, as have we all. At Parkhead on Saturday, they were brilliant with their entire participation. No heavy metal stuff, because they wanted the total unity with all Celtic fans. Then these feckin nutters pop-up last night :47:, and heap embarrasment upon our good name. I have had my say on loads of other posts relating to this issue, and now, any decent Celtic fan, will stand up, and join me, in supporting that these people are exposed, and hounded out of Celtic Park. We are the best fans in the world, and we shouldn't let a few idiots take that title away from us. Occasionally, I travel abroad to support my team in Europe, and in each country I have visited, the people have welcomed us, with open arms. We go abroad, we get Civic Receptions, we get open air concerts, we get the hand of friendship, wherever we go. Remember people like Richard Burton, Liz Taylor, Rod Stewart, these people actually entertained the Celtic fans, because of our warmness, and our togetherness. I don't care who is responsible for the assult, or the flag, lets get them out, now.
How dare people talk about Neil Lennon, in they, way some have on here, I have to laugh when they say "but we supported N.L. last season", waaaaafeckinwheeeeee. Your not supporting N.L., your supporting the fight against bitter sectarian viciousness on an individual. I want to ask the people who are saying the banner, was right, or the people who have slated Lenny for his statement, will you stand as an individual, when arrests are made, because they will be made, or will you stand aside, and let some other mug take the rap. I find myself very fortunate, fortunate in the sense, that I have my season ticket, and I get to support the best team, and fans in the world, I'm not for giving that up. This whole debate needs to be open, because its result could be disasterous for Celtic F.C., but lets hope its not. Let people declare, if they go to the games or not, because I am certainly, not going to let non-attenders, slag me off, or my team, or my football club. :ynwacelti

The post has now disappeared and the posters name Mac Bhoy, it was posted on kerrydale street earlier.
As for who made the banner I don't give a * if it was the GB or not i was only posting what i saw earlier in the day on another forum. That member is well known on that site as being a member of the GB.

i don't know mate i have never been on that site but in his post today he called the banner a rush job and that they were working on other material (most likely a display/banner for the huns match), lets not forget we only got this fine a couple of days ago and the banner had to be complete for the members before they left for Italy.

Why do people try to put the blame on Lawell it wasn't him who unfurled the banner or threw the flare its a trait on here to deflect all the flak on to the board particularly Peter Lawell and as I've seen tonight Neil Lennon. Lets save our condemnation for the fannies who really were responsible for bringing the good name of the club into disrepute and take them to task as to why they thought that it would be of any benefit to display the banner

This. Condemning Lenny for condemning the banner is an absolute disgrace. "He should remember that it was these fans who supported him for so long last season." Yes, and that means he can't call them out when they behave like dicks? The banner should never have been unfurled, and whether or not the fans supported Lenny he has a right to state this. In addition people should remember that actually, he HASN'T always had the unconditional support of those fans. When things are going well he's the dogs bollocks, but sadly as soon as things take a turn for the worse there are people who can't criticise quickly enough. He's trying to protect the name and reputation of the club and our magnificent fans, something those responsible for the banner dragged through the mud on Thursday night.

Cannot believe the flack that is being directed at the GB right now. A week ago everyone was raving about them but that all seems to have been forgotten. If I was them I wouldn't bother supporting the team at the next home game as the manager seems to think that they are not needed. Let's see what happens then, will all these 'fans' calling for them to be banned/jailed/hung get behind the team? I think not.

Am I missing something here ? I pay around £2k for 4 season tickets to watch Celtic Football Club play football. You make it sound as if I should be honoured that the GB turn up to entertain me and the rest of the fans.

FFS talk about the tail wagging the dog ..... If it was the GB that had the banner, flares or assaulted the steward they are out of order and over stepped the mark end of.... learn from it !

I however will never stop supporting MY team just because the GB dont turn up to create an atmosphere at CP. :31::31:

The Green Brigade need to make a statement to clear up whether or not they were involved in the banner, that would put the argument to bed and everyone could move on with the more important stuff

    These people are embarrassing.

They are attention seeking. They want the attention on them, not the team. They want the headlines. They want people talking about them. They are only doing it because it's contentious and for the attention.

Sad little people. Think they are bigger than the current regime and the club in general. Sad, sad little people.

Lennon and Lawell spot on. This rogue element has only appeared in the last 6-12 months. It is sinister. Ruining the good reputation we have worked on for decades. Seems our fans also have a section of knuckle draggers. They should just go support the huns. They act like that and find it entirely acceptable.

This. I'm getting a bit sick and tired of all the discussions and arguments concerning the banner. "Lawwell's trying to divide the support" "Lennon is betraying the support we gave him" "Celtic need the Green Brigade"
The sooner all this blows over, the better. Cba arguing about it any more, just have to ride it out. There have been 'banner controversies' in the past, Lawwell said those responsible would be banned and lo and behold the GB are still there. It will blow over soon, just need to ride it out.

    ?

Whats been different in the Last 6-12 months compared to the last 20 years?

What is "rogue" about a banner saying * UEFA days after they fined the club for illicit chanting?

As for a steward being 'assaulted' this happens every season from fans of every Club. Unless it was numerous fans attacking a steward which it doesnt sound like it was just the 1 fan. You get 1 fan cases of bad behavious every season too, throwing stuff at refs/linesmen, running on the park, giving someone a player or something racial abuse. This has always happened too.

celtic dont need the green brigade as we have went 100 years without them and if the club find out these supporters come from that section we should scatter that section to the 4 sections of the staduim ,im fed up with these supporters making banners that harm the club and using celtic for their own political agenda.:47:
