Celtic set to sign Crystal Palace star

Celtic are reportedly taking an interest into Crystal Palace striker Andy Johnson as the club look for a new target man striker to replace Hartson, should he leave in the summer.

Andy Johnson was one of the most prolific goal scorers last season in the Premiership with 22 goals in the league, the most of an Englishman!

Despite an injury hit and by his standards poor form season, a new lease of life would do him some good.

With the likes of Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle etc now all losing interest in the player, Andy's best chance to impress the next England manager would be to get into the Premiership with either Sheff Utd or Reading etc or even better gain Champions League football experience with Celtic!

A very realistic prospect and a great player too, can Celtic snap up the Eagles man?

 

I'm not sure about him but i'd give him a chance if he came. it's just the fact he plays for Palace which is run by that hun Dowie.

 

Hey mate i really do think you are a good guy but where do you get this * from why would we go for andy johnson we you can get better players for cheaper .

 

i think someones been playing champman too long and is now failing to separate real life and fiction. don't worry mate it happens to me all the time

No mate really where do you get your information.

Johnson would be a good signing but there are other alternatives out there like Riordan,Elliott,and there are other young players from europe .

Eastern Europe has great lots of good young talent like Maricia from Shakhtar .

Would have to say I'd welcome Johnson here. Thought he was amazing when he played in the Premiership last year and was surprised when no Premiership team snapped him up. If he can be a very high scorer in the Premiership then I'd definantely be interested in Celtic making interest in him. However, as their is no link to story I doubt the validity of this story.

 

Palace wouldnt let him go for less than £5m so, realistically I cant see him ever pull on the hoops jersey

i would love him at celtic but he would cost a fortune and i cant see it happening. He is definently a hartson type player and can finish most chances he gets

 

just my opinion but dont think riordan or elliot come close to a striker who scored 20 + goals in EPL last season

 

May b not but you will not have to pay 5-6 million on them and in the current situation were Riordan or Elliott would be the better option do you not think ehh

 

yea true cause the palace chairman is a * so * knows what he wuld want 4 johnson, wuld rather hav riordan than elliot but maybe just cause ive seen more of him

i remember watchin him 2 seasons ago in the perimership, his brilliant.I say sign him up strachan !!!!!

 

I think he would be a decent signing also but I wouldn't play over the odds for him. He's a championship player who had one good season in the EPL, the alarm bells are ringing
