[Link] Celtic Bid For Balde....

Celtic are poised to resurrect their interest in Portuguese hot property Amido Balde.

The Vitoria Guimaraes striker, rated in the £2.5million bracket, was linked with a Lennoxtown trial before quitting Sporting Lisbon last summer.

And sources close to the player have told Sportsmail the Parkhead club had the 21-year-old placed under scrutiny as unfancied Guimaraes piled the agony on to Benfica by winning the Portuguese Cup in Lisbon on Sunday night.

Celtic are preparing for the potential loss of top scorer Gary Hooper, while Tunisian Lassad Nouioui and Venezuelan Miku Fedor are also expected to quit Glasgow this summer.

However, the SPL and Scottish Cup Double winners face strong competition for Portuguese youth international Balde, who played from the start in the 2-1 cup win over Benfica and is midway through a two-year deal.

Newcastle and Sevilla have compiled reports on the player, while Porto are also interested — but face a £5m fee for his services thanks to an exit clause inserted in his contract by arch-rivals Sporting last summer.

I love our signing policy and this lad seems to fit the current bill, interesting to see what happens.

That's precisely what I'm saying mate. I never actually seriously thought we were being linked with him.

 

Lawwel said earlier this year that he would be willing to spend around 4 million if the club feels it would be a good investment. I think about 4 would be the most we would ever pay for a experienced player with a good record.

I also love our policy, I like it when we get a loan with chance to buy so we can test the waters with them 1st. Or like rogic where we flew him out to spain n got lennon a chance to look at him. I'm very confident we will have a good turnout this summer. The club wants to progress n go further, including victor in my eyes. I think we'll either convince big vic , forster n hooper to stay. Or sell one of em, and use the big $ to get a really good center back or something. I feel confident regardless

 

The potential is their and he certainly likes a good scrap, he's a centre forward but i think he could also be very effective playing deeper as a replacement for Wanyama. If, * forbid , he goes in the Summer.
