the football bubble burst in the late nineties when the original preference shares were worth more than double their original £64 and then got dilluted after the further two issues of shares which reduced the ordinary shares to their worthless pennies today. Its an emotional investment only and if you have 10 grand to invest I will show you where to get between 10 and 14% return year on year and I will make you 10 grand so you will have 10 to invest in Celtic and 10 to boogie on down or whatever tickles your fancy!

There are a lot of better things to do with your 10k than invest in Celtic, no matter how much of a die-hard supporter you are. I'm a die-hard supporter myself, but 10k would do a lot more for me than it would for Celtic

As another poster wrote if you invest in Celtic for emotional purposes then fine, I'm sure if most of us real fans were wealthy we would have no second thoughts about donating money to our club, for thats what it would amount to these days, a donation.
On the other hand if you were trying to make a profit on your 10 grand then stay away from sports, and that includes bookies:icon_mrgreen:

Too much risk involved. If you don't have any other purpose for the 10k and you can afford it, then do so, but it would be more for sentimental gain, not financial. Yes you would make a decent wedge of cash if we were to get in the EPL, but 10k is too much to invest on an 'if'.

Yes your right, the current team would majorly struggle in the EPL ( perhaps 15-16th) but the financial clout the EPL offers means the club can invest in players proportional to the new found wealth and therefore be able to afford better players. The wages we could afford to pay would help, as would the attraction of being in the EPL, with 60k fans every week. You can't really view our chances of survival in the EPL as our team is relative to the league we are in.
