Probably more so after a year, but yes some premiership club just after sacking there manager could come in offering a ten million compo package and we're back to square one.

But it's not just about that though, for me it just feels right for Lenny to take us to the ten, sort of meant to be.

Fully entitled to your opinions mate but for me this is absolute birthday card pish, key word in that is could, they could come for them but will they? If they do will the manager leave, will we let them leave? You dont have to be a Celtic man to understand the importance of 10 in a row and if someone mid season in 9 n and a half in a row is doing well will they really leave they would be 4 months away from legend status and we all know jobs come and go in the Premier league and no top 4 club is going to come for our manager so the sort of job they will likely be offered will come back around sharpish... Theres a big difference between 7 and a half and 9 and a half in a row

if we get 10 in a row I would want Lennon's contribution brought up and remembered extremely fondly for the work and overall commitment he has given to us he is a Celtic legend but I could not care less because in my opinion he is not good enough as a manager to take us forward and no matter how great it would be to see him lifting the 10 (Which it would be brilliant) i dont think he should be getting the job based on that.

A director of football would bring stability.

I just want everybody at the club 100% focused on finishing the job over the next two years, from board level, to the management and coaches to the pitch that’s what we all need to be focused on doing. Get this job done.

    I don’t think mercenary’s brings that.

Not every non-Celtic supporting manager is a mercenary. Come, win the 10 and improve us in Europe, then leave. That's fine by me if that's what happens.

That’d be fine for me as well, I’m focused on the next two years. I’m not saying every manager is, I’m saying the type of manager we need is one that’d bring stability and isn’t here only for the money. They wouldn’t last a season if they were half decent and tat’s jot what we need IMO.

I don’t like short termism. We’ve done it too long.

Right seriously now, announce Jose Mourinho then he will bring in Herrera and Godin.

Only problem is a think a lot of fans would instantly blow their * off. :56:

Hasn’t the scouser had the fences blocked out to keep eyes off them?

I think it’s so nobody can see them all being coached to dive at the sight of a white line.

Guardiola "I want to manage Celtic next season, I'll even manage them for free, I just want to lead them to 9 and then of course 10 in a row"

Some Celtic fans "nah mate, sorry we're looking for some stability".

How’s that not stable? Looking to manage us over the next two years for the 10, clearly not just in it for the money because you said he’s doing it for free...

    * analogy.

Ironic. Your post is the probably the most short term I’ve seen on here.

Not employing the best manager possible incase he gets sought after by better teams, instead of hiring an average manager no one would want just because you want two win two league titles is the ultimate example of short termism.

If other teams from better, richer leagues want our managers then it’s probably because he’s been successful.

But aye, let’s not be too good incase some other club comes and offers him more money...

I don’t think you’d find a single fan that wouldn’t want stability at the club.

You see, that's actually exactly the point: if Pep Guardiola wanted to come, I'd quite happily admit I was wrong, wash the * out of my underwear, thank Lenny and wish him good luck and then order my 'Pep's here for 10iar" T-shirt (not necessarily all in that order).

It won't be Pep though, will it? Nor will it be Klopp or Mourinho or even Rafa Benítez.

No, it'll be some unproven young guy who may or may not turn out to be better than Lenny and who may or may not give a * about Celtic Football Club beyond the wage.

That's why I want Lenny. We can save that kind of gamble for after the 10.

    What is stability really?.

The snakey * was a few months off three years.

    Lennon served 4?.

Would we really want to turn down, say, some * like Benitez, Rose, Wagner or some other high quality manager because they might * off in 3 years because we know Lennon will likely serve longer?.

    Nah.

Many see Lennon as a gamble.

He's proven himself able to win titles here and build a team that can qualify for the CL. That's not a gamble in my view.
