Sad to lose him. Got some flak from people who obviously just watch snippets of games.

It's funny how players out always seem to be done in a few days yet its * months bringing them in.

Who said it only took days? We don't know when clubs enquired or when he's told us behind the scenes he wants to move. People saying Jacynta leaving the women's team is a factor, if that's actually true it was announced over a month ago so him leaving could have been on the cards since then, we're just not letting the information get out to the rags.

Same with Nawrocki coming in, that was quick from when he heard the rumours but who knows when we intially made contact with him and how long the deal actually took to thrash out, this idea that we work slower/worse than other teams in the market is just nonsense, especially considering how decent our hit rate with transfers has been the last couple years.

Good luck to him. He’ll be missed far more than many would like to admit.

Some move that. Give it a week it'll be Jacynta who :giggle1:

If that was the case then why have we waited till the start of the new season to find a replacement?. Shoddy business if the club did know about him leaving in June. Can't help getting the feeling that we are falling back into our old ways re transfers

That's worse then. Why wait until now then to get someone in or even try get someone in?

So either we knew for a while and have been * about

    Or

It come out in the last week or so and deal was done quickly which was my original point.

It could just be that it's a lot easier to persuade players to go to la Liga and Spain than to come to the SPL and Scotland.

You don't what you have, until it's gone. I feel we'll come to find that out soon enough.

All the best big man. :shamrock:

Again you're assuming that we've been * about doing nothing, based on what? Just because you haven't heard any rumours from the rags or know what's happening behind the scenes, that means our recruitment team are sitting with their feet up not doing their jobs? Like you're genuinely just going out of your way to convince yourself everything we do is reactionary bordering on negligent.

Nawrocki and Lagerbielke will have most likely been weeks in the making, and both scouted a long time ago, not some random panic buys we're just trying to get done now because Starfelt has suddenly jumped out the door without warning.

Could be a multitude of things mate transfers don't happen in a few days they take weeks on end (outwith a few deals) IE Jota that took less than a week

Good luck to him but chucking away champions league football for a side down the bottom end of the Spanish league and to be a bit closer to his bird of a few months seems a bit desperate.

He was very good on the whole for us but he’s not irreplaceable.

Footballers are humans too as much as people don’t realise.

Nobody except him and the Mrs know how their relationship is going, they might see it going much further than you realise.

Calling him desperate is weird. It’s not like he’s moved to the Spanish 2nd Division.

Brendan Rodger’s last weekend admitted Carl Starfelt was on the verge of leaving the club as he was on the lookout for a fresh challenge, while there were also personal reasons behind his decision. It didn't take much time for Celta Vigo to be revealed as the club set to land the Swedish centre-half and wheels were in motion for a deal to be done swiftly and painlessly.

Now Football Scotland understands negotiations have taken place and a contract has been inked for Starfelt to join Celta on a four-year deal in La Liga. He will have his medical later today
