Can't believe we let players finish their holidays before we parade them at parkhead, typical Celtic being incompetent again the windows closing in nearly two months. * Lawwall.

Celtic are delighted to announce the signing of highly-rated striker, Callum Osmand, who has joined the club from Fulham on a four-year deal, subject to international clearance.

The 19-year-old striker becomes the latest arrival at Paradise following the signings of Kieran Tierney, Ross Doohan and Benjamin Nygren, and joining the Scottish champions is the next step up in Callum’s career.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said: “We are really pleased to bring Callum to Celtic. He is a highly-rated, talented young player.

“He has some real attributes. He’s a quick and powerful striker and I’m really looking forward to working with him. I’m sure he can be really successful with us.”

Speaking to Celtic TV, Callum Osmand said: “It feels unbelievable to be here and I am so happy to be here. It is a big step for me, and I am excited to get going.

"It’s a massive move and I can’t wait to step out at Celtic Park in front of all the fans.

“When I spoke to the manager, he was really positive. The plan and pathway he has set out for the club is top, so it’s exciting with the pathway he has for me.

“He has set out what he wants from me, and it is all really positive, so I can’t wait to get going now.

“I’ve also spoken to Matt O’Riley on the phone, so he has given me advice. He was telling me about how big the club is, how amazing the fans are and it’s a new life really. So excited is definitely the word for me.”

Happy with this one, he was well thought of down south. Hopefully kicks on and pushes for a 1st team spot, more competition for places can only bring out the best in players imo.

I think you'll see quite a bit of him still, not necessarily instantly but will be brought into the team similarly to Edouard. Get some cup games etc. If that's not the plan I think his record in PL2 definitely earns him a good loan to League 1.

Was hoping for 5 years given his age but he'll be some pick up i think going by everything ive seen and read about him so far..

Talking about his pathway, we must have a loan mapped out for him. I can't see us carrying 4 strikers if Yamada signs and Osmand potentially being 4th choice..

    It deffo does a bit..

If we sign Yamada I'm unsure as to his role this season. Hopefully a loan sorted.

From his Celtic tv interview he’s defo not getting loaned out

Callum Osmand has shared that it was Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers who sold him on a move to the club.

The Scottish champions announced the signing of the highly-rated striker, who has joined the club from Fulham on a four-year deal, subject to international clearance.

The 19-year-old striker becomes the latest arrival at Paradise following the signings of Kieran Tierney, Ross Doohan and Benjamin Nygren, with Japanese defender Hayato Inamura also heavily tipped to sign on the dotted line later this week.

Osmand insists that it was the Rodgers factor that convinced him to make the switch north of the border to Celtic and that Glasgow should be his next port of call.

Speaking to Celtic TV, Osmand readily admits that he's made a huge career choice.

Osmand said: “It feels unbelievable to be here, and I am so happy to be here. It is a big step for me, and I am excited to get going.

"It’s a massive move and I can’t wait to step out at Celtic Park in front of all the fans.

“When I spoke to the manager, he was really positive. The plan and pathway he has set out for the club are top, so it’s exciting with the pathway he has for me.

“He has set out what he wants from me, and it is all really positive, so I can’t wait to get going now."

Rodgers was delighted to get his man.

The Irishman said: “We are really pleased to bring Callum to Celtic. He is a highly-rated, talented young player.

“He has some real attributes. He’s a quick and powerful striker, and I’m really looking forward to working with him. I’m sure he can be really successful with us.”

Meanwhile, Osmand also got the lowdown on the men in green and white from an old fans' favourite, Matt O'Riley, who gave Celtic and their supporters a glowing reference.

Osmand can't wait to get started, as he said: "I’ve also spoken to Matt O’Riley on the phone, so he has given me advice.

"He was telling me about how big the club is, how amazing the fans are, and it’s a new life really. So excited is definitely the word for me.”

Got a good feeling about him. Would much rather we just stick with him, Idah and Maeda, and don't take the Yamada one any further.
