Build best possible lineup

Build the best possible starting 11. Two restrictions:

• 1 player per country
• 1 player per team

For instance, can't select Maldini and Buffon cause they are both from Italy. Can't select Maradona and Xavi cause they've both played for Barcelona. Rules are pretty straightforward, but it's harder than it looks. I'll go first.

This is * solid btw, had to take out two players here haha

 

Ronaldo and Eusebio are both from Portugal.

It's more difficult than it seems, especially if trying to include only world class players. Senna was pretty good at his peak, but nowhere near all-time great DMs like Matthäus, Rijkaard, Vieira, Keane or even Rodri from today's game.

 

ahh * genuinely stole Eusebio thinking * it, need to use him then! I feel like Josef Biscan there (which was one I was going to use) is an absolute cheat of a shout.

The ones you’ve said there all had other guys that meant I couldn’t use them - Keane and Ronaldo, Vieira with Cole (and annoyingly I’d set myself up for Totti before Cole * it with Roma, but it allowed Maldini)


When I remembered Diego Forlan played for United I was seething as well

Totti is one of my all time Fav, had R9 in but he ruled out Messi

Gullit and Larsson have played for Feyenord.
Irwin and Larsson have played for Man Utd.

I love that I can follow the logic of picks that I done as well, Irwin you’d think safe shout Internationally and a relatively obscure but great shout but, Man Utd rules out loads.

I was * raging not being able to just stick Prosenecki in but he played for Real and Barca

 

I desperately tried to somehow include Maradona and R7. I would have started Garrincha at RW instead of Messi. Couldn't fill out the midfield positions though. Selecting R7 is tough cause he rules out Real Madrid, Man Utd and Juventus. R9 is close to impossible (or Zlatan for that matter). Wanted to include Matthaus at DM too, but Rodri is a cheat. Can't think of another world class spanish player who has never played for neither Real Madrid nor Barca. He may actually win the ballon d'or this season which is highly impressive. Only other DM to win it was Matthaus.

Haaland is a good shout at CF. Practically rules out only Man City, but I couldn't select Rodri anymore.

 

I needed Ronaldo, Messi and Maldini in the team. Any best ever needs that for me. Then work around that.

AC Milan and Chelsea and the players they’ve had kept throwing me off though. Fair play for this subject mate, because kt’s a * to actually answer

 

Couldn't take Zico because I have a Brazillian RB. David Silva was actually my last pick.

I know it won't be popular on a Celtic site but Gerrard is a good pick for this as he was only at Liverpool and LA Galaxy.

 

England and Liverpool though, England has a lot of useful people trying to think of this because I was thinking Shearer is a very good on at first and opted for Ashley Cole. But was hoping to work Totti or De Rossi in and then remembered Cole was at Roma.
