Looking for a few film recommendations from you guys that are great films but not well heard of. I reckon I've seen most movies that are well known and I've searched a fair bit through the net to find allsorts more obscure ones.

I like good plot line that gets you thinking so anything with a good story would be helpful, doesn't matter about budget or anything like that. Everyone must have few unknown gems.

Favourites of mine include Network, A Scanner Darkly, The man from Earth The Acid house, Equilibrium and It's a free world. :50:

If you've not seen Running Scared or Taken they are both great "thriller" types :50:

If you don't mind subtitles then i'd highly recommend District 13 and Downfall.

    La Haine

Shot in black and white cinema verite style, this film follows a day in the life of three aimless, violence-prone, ethnically-diverse young men who hail from the same decaying housing project in Paris. Vinz, who is Jewish, is the angriest and the least intelligent of the three. North African Said is calmer, but is the most despairing about his future. Hubert is Black, and the most mature, channeling his rage through boxing. Although the trio seethes with fury over the arrest and senseless beating of an Arab friend, each manages to keep the other in check. But that changes after Vinz finds a loaded gun--and the trio becomes entangled with the police, and later a group of skinheads. Mathieu Kassovitz won the Best Director prize for LA HAINE at the Cannes Film Festival.

the fact it's French with English subs puts folk off but seriously its a modern classic,if you haven't already.......... WATCH IT :icon_mrgreen:
