I recall Dave King fell out with Warburton after their result vs. us. Reason was Warburton had too much sway with the fans. Never understood it.

Now thinking about it, Lawwell must feel the same way. If Rodgers said to the fans Lawwell needs to go I think enough would back him for Lawwell to be removed. I reckon this is the root of the problems and why Lawwell will be happy to see him go, especially under these circumstances.

Rodgers should stay and at the end of the season leave and explain why.

I know there is more to it, but PL seems to be a common theme here, when it comes to our managers feeling their ambitions being left unmatched when it's clear we could potentially push a little more then we do.

Steve Clarke I’d take, he’s got fire in his belly at the moment.

Starting price for Calmac £30m. If the * in England can go for that price, Calmac is a better player than some of them so I'd be saying,"Let the bidding begin, 30m starting offer".

Rodgers buys players or loans them then reluctant to play them a lot of times, most of the squad already there who's doing it regular, brought us great domestic success though so it's hard to be critical.

The board are actually * though, if you look what they've done today, they've actually thrown him under the bus and have made him leave.

They released that short statement knowing it would be the nail in his coffin and force the issue.

For a club that keeps all our internal stuff, well internal, to come out and tell the media he has been allowed to have talks - it's forcing the issue.

Easily could have let the talks happen in the background, if he chose it wasn't for him and decides to stay, he comes out and says "they approached and were told no".
But this way, he can't do that, he now is known to actually be interested and the board know the fans won't sit for that.

Theyve forced this issue, and for me only one motive, make him leave and get his wage off the bill. Next manager will be back to the 500k a season bracket, as opposed to Rodgers 2.5million.

A bottle of Gaviscon as a signing-on fee would sort that.

Best of a bad bunch, the only one in Scottish football worth noting. Even at that, debatable.

And then add in the last week's antics, no chance he is about to go baw deep in this nonsense.

Mate, no offence but this is bollocks. I see this all the time on here. Celtic fans refuse to accept anyone would leave Celtic, it’s always the big bad board.

If Rodgers leaves this week it’s because Rodgers wanted to leave this week and no other reason and he will be a * for doing it.

If he leaves in the summer I’m happy to say the board forced him out.

If he goes where does it leave players such as Weah and Burk. Rodgers is known for his ability to being on youngplayers. Will they be recalled? It could be he is giving Leicester respect by speaking to them and the club has said before they will not stop the manager speaking to other clubs. The media would love to see him go. I await the news that this is a story that has got out of hand

Board will cut corners and stick with Lennon, and spin it into a legend where rangers biggest nemesis returns to finish off the 10 in a row job.

Let's be honest is there any other viable manager out there bar Clarke and Lennon that understands Celtic and what's at stake?

    I agree, he's a * if he leaves now.

By no means am I going to defend a man who walks out on us in such a manner.

But it's been building for months now and we all know the reasons. Same reasons Lennon called it quits.

Clarke's never taking the job anyway he's already talked about going back down south, the Celtic job won't be worth the hassle for him.
