He won * HALF of the games. The game we lost against Barça, also was a great game and we were unlucky. That DEFEAT alone was a better game than any with Rodgers in Europe. All of this with a squad that, Forster and Wanyama aside, was on par or weaker than what we have today. And back when the gap between Barcelona and the rest was as big or even larger than it is between the best team of the world and the rest today.

Another thing that needs to be questioned, I am not making any assumptions, I am genuinely asking: we are permanently in an injury crisis. Couldn't there be something seriously wrong with the way players are training or being used in the pitch? This can't be a mere coincidence. On the top of it all, Simunovic and Gamboa were taken out injured yesterday. I never seen a team have such a bad "luck".

 

We crumble after conceding in Europe. It's a mentality issue, and Rodgers doesn't really seem to be able to fix it.

 

He made us 20m on Dembele alone wich covers any signings , Armstrong for 8m , Ntcham and Edouard will go for big bucks too thats not to forget the players like Rogic,Mcgregor and Tierney who are multi million assets who were going nowhere under ronny delilah. 2 trebles in a row .

 

No but we all want to see improvement in Europe but personally, he’s shown enough for me that he doesn’t know how to do it. But what he can do is get us qualified the majority of the time and dominate Scotland.

 

Would you be content with that you?

Or are you happy to see us continually pumped in Europe.

Not punted but certainly held accountable for some shockingly poor judgement calls.

I'd say about 90% of Celtic fans were against signing Hayes, Rodgers decided to go for it and spend the £1.2 million which he was quite entitled to do but when we get nothing in return, surely we can question it?

The same could be said about Hendry.

He spent £3 million on Kouassi to then say his game-time would be limited because Scott Brown was playing so well. Why would you not use those funds to target genuine weaknesses in the team instead?

its not just the transfer waste of money its the wages and then having unhappy players stinking the place out

 

With the same sorta levels of success over the last two years? Aye.

Would I be happy with it? Probably not.

 

Look I get the criticism, he's certainly not above it..

Most of the forum wanted us to rest players for the Diets, so why moan now when a weakened team performed poorly. Cant have it both ways. I was actually annoyed we rested Benkovic and didn't risk a few others.

If anyone can put forward a realistic upgrade on BR, I'd love to hear it.. until you do fill your boots with moaning like wee fannies.

 

If he is leaving at the end of the season then I can see why from his point of view he'd be fully focused on domestic football over europe, leaving the club with 9 out of 9 trophies and an invincibles run is something that will never be matched and I imagine he'll be quite happy with that.

 

Don't disagree with that but the amount has now come to a tipping point where it's seriously impacting the squad dynamic - by making the consistent performers complacent and the forgotten signings disinterested - and our ability to rotate our key performers without losing or drawing games. eg. Broony at Tynecastle.

With the likes of Hendry we can see he's not up to the job.

Kouassi, De Vries, Hayes, Musonda, Gamboa, Compper, Arzani and Morgan have all been signed and either dropped within a few games or not given any chance.

It completely contradicts his comments about only signing quality that can make an impact on the team immediately.

Lennon got slated for his signings towards the end of his tenure and while there was the likes of Pukki, Balde and Bangura. On the whole his signings proved much better value for money.

 

Neil Lennon is a realistic upgrade when it comes to Europe mate, I don’t think there’s any denying that. 6 out of 6 trophies donestically and an invincible run though? Well, that actually can’t be topped.

I agree with that, and I agree that Rodgers will not top that.

Therefore what he has shown in Europe is that he isn't learning, and to be honest really isn't good enough a manager at that level.

 

Morgan and Arzani may make it, even Kouassi..

Dembele, Sinclair, Ntcham, Edouard are quality additions, as is Benkovic. Quality costs..

That's not say there are genuine concerns around his inability to spot a defender.
