Breaking the hoops

How would you react if Celtic were to ditch wearing green and white hooped shirts and went for a different design? Or different colours? Would it annoy you and how would you feel if the club changed the badge drastically (like Arsenal did)?

 

is this actually a serious question or just a wind up? Can u not rem all the agro over umbro jersey a few seasons back where hoops were not complete?

 

Serious question intended to provoke some interesting debate.

And yes I remember that top. It's one of my favourites.

if Celtic "lost the hoops" then i would be first at the door to protest,as the hoops are Celtics identity,its unique,special and fantastic,if they lost the hoops they would lose something special

 

Fair play to ya. to be honest non complete hoops aside I thoought it was the worst 1 of recent times.
My view on changing the jersey is they can do what they like with away jersey but the Hoops must always be the Hoops

 

I think to much was made of the strip that had the white bars down the side under the arm pits. The hoops were obviously broken but people still knew it was us just by taking one look at the strip. If the design changed that much as to make people not know who they're looking at then i'd take issue with it because if you think about it we're one of the only clubs in Europe that you could say that for, that you know whose strip it is from a distance.

If Celtic was anything what Aberdeen have been over the years i would be outraged. The hoops like represent us. Hence why we call ourselves the 'hoops' and 'hoopie' our mascot! it wouldn't be right.

 

No but i bought one in Bairds one night before a Charlie and the Bhoys gig, stayed at my mates that night, went to work the next day with the top in a polly bag and left it next to the table i was playing on (snooker). Next thing i know the thing had vanished! * Denistoun

 

i'd be unhappy, i can't see any good reason for breaking this tradition, certain clubs have that instant recognition due to their top
Celtic Barcelona (weirdly enough they have tampered with this seasons) Ajax Newcastle, i'm sure there are a few more.

That is the one Celtic strip that reminds me of Phil O'Donnell, love it

Although, that top isn't exactly 'breaking the hoops' is it? It breaks one hoop but overall it's still a hooped top. Theres was another one, it was maybe the year 2000 top not sure?

 

I could never imagine that it just wouldn't be the same if they changed the hoops i would hate it if they changed it in anyway.
