hi lads .. he wouldnt be * captain if he was * , now would he?

he may not be as technicallly gifted as juarez . but his drive and energy is the best in the team , and his bullying ppl off the ball is kinda like lennon as a player. I can see why lennon appointed him captain.

    Eh McManus?

Couldnt even get a game with Celtic and was still captain. Not always about playing ability. Thier Scottish and always play with thier heart on thier sleeves. They're both halfway to being captain based on that alone.

scott brown has been a regular for our last 3 managers. hes also been a regular for the national team, 2 managers. 5 managers wouldnt have him in their team if he was * would they? he is far better than people give him credit for.

Nonsense, he is far worse than people give him credit for as a matter of fact he deserves little or no credit for the performances he has put in while in a Celtic shirt !

The guy has nothing but energy, he's as useless a footballer as I have seen and drives me fookin nuts with his stupidity !:31::31:

 When you've had the whole team around you changed twice in two seasons do you think you'd shine? When you've played in different positions and formations constantly do you think you'd be a settled player?
Technically Brown has not been great for he last couple of seasons, that said who has been great in a Celtic shirt over the last couple of seasons???
The sooner Lenny decides on a formation and a best 11 then we can say who is * and who is worthy of the shirt. After the nightmare of Europe this is a massive season for all our players!

If some fans still don't like him after the start he's made to this season, they never will. Simple as that.

larsson was captain ..he wasnt scottish. He got it probably cus he had such high respect from all the players.

sure lennon was captain aswell. He wasnt the best technically .. slow as anything aswell , but he had a drive about him , bullied ppl off the ball and showed a bit of leadership on the field.

u look at out current first team and show me a better person than brown that has the credentials to be captain?

In the SPL he has looked much sharper. Aye he can still run his mouth but he has improved.
Still though, I think he has again been given chance after chance to fulfill his potential, shows it a couple fo games then plays baws and loses his temper.

There's no dig in the team like him and there won't be for a long long time just a pity he can't tackle to go with that dig. Thankless job the lad has and for asl ong as he keeps given 110% every week like he is he has to play.

Going to play devils advocate here becasue I'm bored out my *.

For all those who say "he must be good, look at all the mangers and people in the game who like him and know what there talking about" would you want Emile Heskey playing for Celtic? Exact same arguement...mangers and players love him, 90% of others think hes pish.

Just a question lads, if Scott Brown was out of he team do you think we would improve?

I think people need to research Scott Brown's game more, dont just judge him by what he does with the ball, (which imo is very decent and the can't pass thing is a joke and a lie) and watch what he does off the ball, watch him make a 40 yard run to cover a team mate who has lost the ball, watch him help out in defence and within a few seconds is driving forward with the ball into the opposition's half.

If people actually analysed his game probably, and spent time watching him you would see how hard he works for the team, just tracking back or making very important challenges which dont seem to be acknowledged by some of our fans.

I still can't see this myth about he can't pass, I have watched him with intent this season and about 85% of his passes are successful.

He also seems to be getting forward more this season, think Lenny has told him he needs to contribute more goals and already he could have had a couple of goals and was unlucky due to blocks, good saves etc.
I can see him scoring 10 spl goals this season at least.

He gives everything for the team and has made a good start to the spl season, what more do you want from him????

    Well summed up Markey.

As for GM's post above. If I'd known we'd end up with Stokes and Samaras as our forward line, then yes, I would have welcomed Heskey with open arms.
