Best fans in the world?

Here is a link to a letter posted by a fan after the booing debacle on Boxing day. Whilst i am far from Bobo's biggest fan i am disgusted by the behaviour of some fans and it is not just this one incident, its the general attitude of some so-called fans at Paradise in the past couple of years who never open their mouths unless it is to spout abuse!

The most worrying thing about the booing of Balde was it could be clearly heard from the LL stand(family section).This incident along with others(and fans still signing songs about the IRA) does not help our reputation one little bit

 

Couldn't agree more, a few players are systematically targeted and get dogs abuse throughout no matter how well they play, McGeady being the latest.

Nah the behaviour of those fans was shocking and I actually cringed when I heard it. These 'supporters' are a disgrace and they have short memories too.

 

agree murphy you cant go booing people everytime they make a mistake its just human errors the players make like any player does its not like they make mistakes constantly

 

Bobo's got a terrible habit of when he makes a mistake, it gets fully punished. Even so though to boo any Celtic player in the middle of a game for an individual error is shocking.

 

Exactly Murphy. You could almost throttle the big man at times but it is not the Celtic way to lower ourselves to booing our own!

I agree it is out of order. Where I sit, McGeady usually takes dogs abuse from people sitting behind me. I would love for McGeady to turn around and say "Shut it ya fat *, i would like to see you do better."

Aye Bobo was rotten, so was McGeady but ye don't boo your own players. A do agree way the booing of Quinn and Fergus though.

 

I agree booing Bobo for the rest of the match was out of order but i have to say i did have a go when Livvi scored but i do agree that knocking the guys confidence by booing him for the rest of the game was out of order.

Well Bobo is constantly making mistakes and adding pressure onto our defence. I have my doubts over him, I would rather not have him.

But I have made my opinions on this issue really clear on a similar post on this site not long ago.

Can remember Lenny being booed for playing a backwards pass against Villareal at CP instead of playing a risky pass forward.
I was particularly scunnered by those fans who chose to boo Henrik after scoring for Barcelona, are these people real football fans, if so then I don't want to be around them.
There have been several players over the years who have not played well for Celtic, but whilst they wear the Hoops I will never boo them no matter how bad they play.
I can understand ex-players who treated the club badly being booed, but I can't stand this new breed of Celtic fans who are never happy, constantly negative and who seem to live for bad results so they can slag off everyone from individual players, the team in general and the manager.
Get behind the team or * off, faithfull through and through means sticking with your team through the bad times as well as the good, I wonder how these fans would have coped with being at CP when Rangers were winning 9 in a row.
I gave up my season book last year mostly because of the guy two rows in front of me, he constantly slagged off every player, shouted vile abuse at Bobo and Lenny upto the point I had a square go with him at half time during the Dunfermline game.
I left CP that day gutted, I couldn't believe what had happened, and although most around me agreed that the guy had it coming to him, CP didn't feel the same after that day.
Too many idiots are creeping into CP, and real fans are being put off by these arseholes, I hope the situation changes for the better, but I don't know how long it will be before I reclaim my season book from my mate.

Actually its got to the stage when I prefer Celtic to be away. All these idiots achieve is giving the opposition hope, which they should never have.

 

i think the atmosphere at away games is alot better, that shouldnt be we should all be backing our players no matter where we are and singing plus chanting players names showing our full support for the team throughout the entire 90 minutes, but because of some * paradise has went right down hill recently but when you go to most away games its excellent cause its only the hardcore fans that are willing to travel long distances

 

i dont agree way booing the players one bit!and i cant stand sitting listening to people calling half the players all the names under the sun coz they made a mistake! i dont agree way booing our own players at all,ive never done it,and never will either.

 

People need to remember that Bobo has done a lot for us over the years and its a huns thing to boo your own team we shouldnt do it

 

One o' the main reasons Celtic is known in the world for is the incredible support they always had and have. Hearing such disgusting things just makes ye sad. Are we going tae end up like real madrid or rankers fans, only supporting the team when it wins and dumping it the moment it starts underperforming, even if that's fer 45 mins? I don't want tae end up like that, I'd prefer never watching footy again.
