Last summer when I was painting the fence I listened to one. Problem was when I finished the fence the book was still only half done. I then had to start finding other wee jobs to do outside to finish the book. I dont think I would manage to follow the story unless I was doing something really boring.

    The Ricky Gervais Guide To..

Really funny audiobooks. It's him Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington talking about different subjects each audiobook - Medicine, History, Society etc.

Another one, it's actually a podcast but it's a continuous story, is We're Alive. It's about a zombie apocalypse and the survivors.

What does 'Les Misérables' literally translate to? The miserable ones?

Started a 30 day free trial with Audible a few days ago. Started listening to LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring. Didn't realise how * long it would take, there's two volumes - both around 10 hours long. Almost finished volume one.

Quite enjoying it. It's a lot easier than reading, can just listen at any time rather than having to be somewhere quiet with nobody about.

Just started listening to Wolff's Fire and Fury on Trump's first year - it's a staggering listen and I'm only on Chapter 2!

I use them for commuting because I was getting fed up with Spotify playlists over and over again. Been using Audible for around a year. Particularly good for the comedians stuff.

Was having to drive all over scotland for work the past few months, some long commutes and was getting bored of listening to music/radio so got stephen kings the dark tower audio book...could not get into it one bit.

Listened to about 8 or so hours and just gave up. Dont know if it was that particular book or audiobooks in general but was just awful.

Listened to irvine Welsh's "*", the sequel to Trainspotting. Was quite funny listening to the guy go from Begbie going mental, to putting on a woman's voice for one of the female characters

The biggest part of it for me is the narrator. They can ruin even good books.

I'm too much of a day dreamer for audiobooks, I find myself tuning out then have to rewind it. With a book you have to consume every word.
