ARTUR - TIME IS UP

Sad to say Artur Boruc has no future at Celtic. Too many mistakes, and this has been going on for nearly a year now. Don't know what the real problem is and frankly don't care.He has had long enough to get his act togetherNeed to get as much cash as we can, before his price drops.No more excuses.

love the guy not gunna say sell him just cos hes having a hard time of late. still the best keeper in scotland in my opinion

 

He has blamed the collapse of his marriage for his loss of form in 2008, I'd give him until the end of the season to prove himself then sell.

We wont get a replacement in January

Have to agree with you would well take £7m for him, if that was Brown that was making all these mistakes he would be getting hammered by the fans.

 

Tamster I dont often agree with you but in this instance you are right. I think this season he has knocked of £100,000 of his value every time he plays. He was a 10 million goalie a year ago but I doubt we would get 7 now. Artur WAS a great goalie but when a goalies nerves go they sometimes never get them back. I think he was great in the first 2 season but has been nothing special since.

Technically he is one of the worst cross takers I have ever seem at the top level, simply laughable. There is a full scale panic every time a simple cross comes his side of the penalty spot. That is a huge flaw and along with his crazy bombscare moments that have cost us so many goals that makes him far from world class.

Just goes to show you the amount of leeway you get if you play to the gallery with daft Tshirts and other wind up stuff and become a cult figure. So many fans are taken in by that its a bit sad really. His time is up. We must trade him in for as much as we can in the summer while he still has a decent value. wish we still had david marshall tbh. brown is no competition for boruc so thats why he wont get dropped even though he's playing so poorly

 

As much as i like the big man i would sell him if we got a decent enough bid to many mistakes from him this season costing us far to much now.

 

I've defended the big man all through the season when others have gave up on him, but now am afraid i have to admit it looks like he's finished. I didn't see the game game but the fact is he's costing us goals and if it wasn't for us having good players who can make things happen we'd be out of the cup to a first division side.

You can make a few mistakes, even major ones that Boruc has, and be given a bit of le-way considering we all know what he can do. But you have to draw the line somewhere and to say he's become a liability cannot be argued with.

I wouldnt say a year tamster more like this season ,he has explained why and fair play to him ,but i dont want him sold in january and put it this way ,he can only get better as the season goes on ,so on that im sure celtic will still get a good price

he is on a howler still, id still say give him till end of the season, we arent top of spl because we let goals in. He is doing something right.

 

I think he started to go down hill a bit last season. His main plus points were he was a great shot stopper, great at one on ones and a great kicker. However, that does not make you a complete goalie. He always has had flaws in his game and I think crosses and concentration are two of them. What annoys me is fans only partly judge him on his ability, a lot really love the fact that he plays up on the Catholic thing (falsely from what I can gather - he apparenlty said in print in a biographical piece that he is not a believer)and the Rangers wind up antics. That has nothing to do with football and no matter how much some people think thats great, we shouldnt let it cloud our judgement.

 

Well i would have rated him about £10 million but know it has lowered by quite a bit now

I do rate him very highly but he often makes mistakes now and i think it is his confidence which is extremely low but i would consider a bid now definitely but depending how much.

I would say if Athletico Madrid came in for a £9 million i would possibly sell him as another point is that, that amount for a goalkeeper is a lot of money

He will always be remembered as a legend though with brilliant memories and will always be Oh Artur Boruc The Holy Goalie :icon_mrgreen:

 

I've been critical of him for months and months and I got pelters for it. People were calling him world class and the greatest ever to put on the Celtic keeper jersey etc etc.

Finally people are taking off the blinkers but I'd still wait until the summer before making a decision because January is not a good window for this decision

 

You have dempsey ,from early on he was making minor mistakes then they where getting bigger ,but you did say early on .

I was at game and while i am annoyed at Arturs mistake, and his weight, i still love him and i still think when it comes to the crunch he wont let us down, remember last huns game, arturs save won it!
