    CL Group stage.

    Juventus
3-2 - Dirty diving Amoruso = Dodgy penalty

    Lyon
3-2 - Very questionable hand ball decision = Dodgy penalty

Manchelski United (my new name for the new English dive kings)
3-2 - Cheating swine Ryanaldo Giggs = Dodgy penalty

I see a pattern here. Did we do something in our past lives to merit this crap? Surely we're due at least a wee bit of luck in this tournament.
Not saying United weren't the best side (they were) but when you get decisions like that it makes things a whole lot easier.

We are not cursed, its always been like this football, all the big clubs tend to get favours from refs

are you saying your small club? the penalty was weak but your keeper brought that on himself by charging out to a player who was going no where.

And caldwell (i think) was lucky to stay on the pitch when he blatenly blocked saha inside the box when the ball was played througth.

It was'nt a penalty last nite but Boruc should'nt have run out to meet Giggs. The ref was * for both teams and was likely to make a bonehead decision if given the chance. * the same ref messed up in the world cup and i won't even go in2 his performance in Seville. clubs need to start speaking out against these fools. Players, managers and clubs pay for bad perfomances while it seems * refs get rewarded with a big time game.

in europe we arnt a top nowadays mate, it happens domesticly aswell, the old firm tend to get some dodgy desisions here in the SPL, how many times did chelsea win 1-0 with a penalty last season.

Also i reckon big sides, with big players know how to con refs, aye its not fair on the other team but its a part of football, it annoys me when people moan about cheaten *, its true its cheating, but its a part of the game of football nowadays, and it wins games, if it been the other way we wouldnt have complained.

And i agree about Boruc, it was harsh but there was no need for him to come rushing out like that, giggs was going nowhere

I live outside of England and Scotland, and believe me, we are a small club. even man utd are not that big anymore, according to the european mainland glory hunters. everybody talks about chelsea, barca, real madrid (why the * anyway :84:) etc nowadays.

but what the * do we care what these people say

so if a player makes an error in judgement(boruc) ... then the ref is completely within his rights to award a penalty even if it clearly isnt one.

ok .. i'll make a note of the rule change for games outside scotland! :31:

Small club? Eh naw. A poor club with an average team as a result sure, but you wanna point out another club who takes 80,000 people hundreds of miles with them? Who attract 60,000 every other week to watch boring foregone conclusions? If there are 5 clubs in the world bigger than Celtic then you'd have a hard time finding them. Money or a great team doesny = size!:52:

Manchester United and Celtic are both 10x the size of Chelsea.

fully agree with you. you have to see, 70% of the ppl here know celtic, but they dont know its history or anything else, whats behind the name celtic. you cant turn on your telly and the spl is being shown over here. you have to make an effort to see celtic games.

but dont worry, there are a few freaks like me, who go to as many games as possible and inform other people about the greatest football team ever.

my wee village has turned into a celtic stronghold :celt_2:

Read what he said mate. I dont think you understand us.

You get very few random Celtic fans outside UK, Ireland, North America, and Australia unlike teams like real, man u, byern, barca, juve, ac, inter. You wouldnt see a random Spanish guy with a Celtic top in spain like you do Barca tops in Glasgow. You dont walk into a sports sho in italy and see a tack of Celtic tops, u see the domestic clubs along with all the above mentioned clubs.

im sorry mate i dont understand you. how do you evidence this? youre talking about shopping habits of nations mate. i was in barcalona this year and i didnt see anybody wearing a celtic top ....or manu or bayern or ac inter or chelski etc. we are certainly smaller than some of the major powers in world football, but that doesnt make us a "small" club.

as i said it was a weak penalty - your keeper made contact and giggs went down, wheather there was enough contact for a penalty to be awarded looked unlikey, but it wasn't a BLATANT dive.

I understand you must be * but bad decisions happen all the time, like i descirbed with caldwell on saha later in the game, a clear foul.

We also lost out to porto two years ago with a gaol that was disallowed for offside when scholes was clearly onside. * happens.

You gave a great account of yourselves last night and made a great game, pinning us back more then once. however, i think the result was deserved as man of the match, despite his error in jugment, was your keeper.

Its not shopping habbits. Outside the countries i mentiones we are not a regarded a large club. I am in Spain for the summer and i hav seen plenty6 of people playing football with all these shirts on, the only Celtic shirt i hav seen is my own and those of SCOTTISH and IRISH folk in the pub last night and on saturday. If i asked someone here to name the top ten teams in europe they what not put us in that list.

    ps. i like ur username:50:

Without a shadow of a doubt, IT WAS A PENALTY.

Boruc came thinking he'd get the ball, he should have stayed on his line, just as he arrived Giggs got a touch on the ball that took it away from Boruc. BORUC MADE CONTACT, HOWEVER SLIGHT, WITHOUT GETTING A TOUCH ON THE BALL. PENALTY.

Lets stop feeling sorry for ourselves and trying to blame everything else. Our team and its performance cost us a result, not United or the ref. We made unforced mistakes and gifted them goals.

In the SPL those mistakes dont get punished. Alot of player found out last night that they will in the CL. Lessions have been learned by all the players

im not feeling sorry for myself , proud of my teams efforts last night .. but no- one will make me believe it was a penalty when it was never in a million years one.. aye boruc should have stayed on his line fair does .. but he came out to meet giggs .. the softest penalty ive seen in a long long time in any football game not just because celtic were playing in it ..giggs flicked the ball 5 yards ahead of himself .. boruc gets whole body out of the way .. no contact ..giggs goes on for 2 yards thinks about it then goes down like a swan ... i wudda said the same had it been the huns or someone .. shocking decision by the referee .. everyone u meet and hear about it last night even rangers fans etc at my work said it wasnt a pen.... only souness said it was and he knows * all as gullit and nicholas had to interupt him then at this point so keys quickly changes the subject before major debate / arguing happened..

but besides the penalty incident .. we gave the ball away too easy and it cost us big time.. still with the passion we showed and we had a right go all night .. man utd were just the better side last night in the final 3rd .. but i thought we didnt deserve to get beat with the way we played at times. resilient and dogged. also deadly when we got a sniff.

i have much hope for us tbh.

dont dispute that manu deserved the win mate and im not as * off as you might think - ive felt much worse after losing games believe me!!

but theres a few people saying what youve said about boruc bringing it on himself. im not having that. he made a mistake but it wasnt a penalty. he didnt deserve to have a penalty against him despite his error.

with regard to the dive thing..i guess youve read the other thread i started. blatent or not it doesnt matter - he conned the ref. if it was a celtic player youd be saying he cheated but thats what all fans are like and i accept that.

im not claiming it cost us the match - manu were the better team overall

You might have something with the caldwell/saha thing but saha brought that on himself by not bending his run enough :84: :84: :84:

ok mate.. i see where youre coming from.. i would never argue that we are in the top 10 in europe but there are reasons for that. i still argue that we are not a small club. thats getting way of topic tho mate.
