Other than Wanyama, anyone else getting a little concerned that we arent moving quick enough for players?

Need a keeper pronto, someone who is going to play a few friendlies and bed into the side. Season starts in 2 weeks and I would not like us to get someone in and find out he isnt up to it. Zaluska clearly wont be No 1 , and with good reason. Now we are getting a keeper in on trial. That is worrying, how many other top clubs ask keepers, or anyone to come over on trial. If we havent seen enough of him to make a bid then a weeks trial wont make any difference. It suggests to me, that this keeper hasnt been scouted at all and is just coming on a suggestion.

We also need a striker, too often last season when Hooper wasnt playing, or not scoring, we struggled a bit. Stokes is good, but Neil has a problem with him. Samaras and Murphy are deadwood. And Morten is so far out of the picture, he isnt even considered. Again we are conductin this in the papers with messages to Bellamy about cutting his wage. Two weeks to go and still no clearer with a target.

All the while, our rivals have resigned their big players and now looking at getting some more in.

Im not saying we should be rushing in anyone, but I can honestly believe that Neil and the board didnt identify a raft of players before the transfer window opened.

And the "we cant afford it" excuse is lame now.Neil and the board know their budget, they will also know the type of player they can afford. I would like them to be a bit clearer on who we are getting in.

    Please.

Not really, our team is fine, just needed 1 or 2 additions.

    Nope.

I genuinely have faith that Lenny and Co are doing everything in their power, and are using careful deliberation rather than just bring in first come first buy.

I am quite worried about keeper situation. We need to move quickly to bring someone in before the season starts. Also we need a striker that is going come into the side and score goals if Stokes or Hooper aren't available. Imo those two will be our strike force this season

I was thinking this the other day, although it only feels like we have signed one player, we hae actually signed 3 new players, which is quite good, i do think we need a striker and goalkeeper, but i think they will be in before the start of the season so not really worried

I have plenty of faith in Lenny, but when I read about us bringing in a keeper on trial two weeks before the season starts it smacks a little of desperation and not careful deliberation.

I think the side is good enough as well. But we do need a keeper and a striker.

    No not really.

Just because it's not all over the media doesn't mean nobody is looking at players and working towards moves.

We'll probably hear more once the team is back from Australia.

We have been promised 2-3 quality players.

seasons in TWO weeks. I have got to admit I am feeling a wee bit twitchy with the season coming into start, and for one we are goaless and were going to Easter Road on the first game of the season with Gary O'Connor and that wee hun * Ivan Sproule upfront for that wee mob and plus we have got a play-off europa league qualifier to go through so we really are in a SOS on a keeper.

Also agree we need another TOP striker someone whos consistent and can do damage in europe aswel and looking to make a name for himself like hooper last season.

Celtic better not coming away with there "cant afford these players" pish, biscuit tin * or am going to be mad going to games next season, its up to the board on the cash.

    TWO WEEKS.

Correct. People can point and say we have already signed Matthews, Wilson and Wanyama, but these guys arent top quality, at least not yet.

Quality players will be ones that have a record at a decent level, or international level or something we can gauge their quality at.

Matthews and Wilson are Championship players and Wanyama is potential only.

    TWO WEEKS is spot on.

Hope they're both up to scratch. Isn't Wanyama going to be a converted CD? Seems overly risky.

With Mulgrew able to play there and Rogne maybe available, I suppose we'd be alright. Time will tell.

I'm more worried about getting a quality striker in TBH, I think we'll have a keeper in the next week but if we start the season without buying a striker we'll be forced to rely on Samaras if Hooper or Stokes gets injured during the season.

What do you mean goal-less my General?

We have Hoops, Stokes (And laugh at me for this, but I believe we will be seeing a lot more of Sammy this season:icon_mrgreen:)

Im just concerned that we are taking a goalie on trial two weeks before the season starts. Havent we been looking at him prior? What club takes any player on trial. And what will it tell us? He may have one good match and be *, or have one poor match and we let him go. Just seems a little desperate.

And agree we have a great young side, but I feel that we need that one quality player that is going to win us the league.

With no title for 3 seasons I honestly dont give a * about what it costs. I want that flag at CP come May. If Lennon wants a player, the board should back him.

I'll be honest mate, I think the idea of the trial is very astute.

Yes, we have looked at him before, but he has not played a lot over the last year or so at Spurs - get him in, see how sharp he is and how he interacts with his potential team mates......nothing wrong with test-driving a Porsche before you sign the lease on it:86:
