First of all, I want to say hello to all of you, I haven't been posting here for a while but I still follow Celtic and still come in here from time to time to see what's going on..

I have been suffering of anxiety for the past 8 months it's the most horrible thing I've ever lived, I started to make a big deal out of everything and panic over the most stupid little things,

and then I became very worried about my health to make the story short I have been very strong mentally and health wise till this started 8 months ago.

lots of things have been happening during this time and I would like to know if any one in here have gone through something similiar. Last week I felt a weird little mass on neck close to my clavicle I got online (big mistake) and read horrible stories that made me panic. I had an accident a few years ago and ever since then I didn't want to ever go to a clinic again but after feeling that mass on my clavicle I just had to go get a doctor look at it.. he says he is 90% sure it is nothing bad and it's just a Lipoma which is fine of it doesn't grow but that he needed to do some blood work to make sure I'm fine, I'm sure this doesn't sound too bad to everyone with a healthy mind but you have no idea how anxious and scared I'm at this moment. At the same time I feel like if I get the results and everything is normal this might be the end of my nightmare please keep me in your thoughts I should be hearing from the clinic in the next 2 to 3 days.

I'm only 31 years old got a beautiful family of 3 kids my wife is great, I'm good economically and feel very blessed but my depression and anxiety and fears do not let me enjoy all this beautiful things.

Sorry I made this long I know there's a bunch of good people in here that might give me some good advice

I've had it on and off for about 5 years mate. Wait for the results and try not to panic. I found that exercising helped a lot with my depression and anxiety and long walks especially. Simple things like trying to find a new hobby can be incredibly helpful too!

Seriously best thing to do is speak to the doctor/your family/friends.

I think most people will suffer from anxiety at some point in their lives.

Mate no word of a lie I suffered and still do from time to time with the exact same anxiety. (Health) its not an easy process but you will come out the other end eventually. Fs I was at the doctor every other week with anew and improved illnesses lol tbh it doesn't really worry me anymore (my health that is) but I still would suffer anxiety/panic attacks now and again, palpitations heart racing etc etc. But honestly man you'll end up getting fed up with it and your mind will start to tell you to wise up. But as other people have said loads of people suffer it and a bit of gym work does help. Just remember that you're not on your own!

All the time (I have chronic OCD).

Go see your Doc and ask if he can send you for counselling (preferably with someone who is trained in cognitive behaviour therapy).

    Best of luck. :celt_2:

I must have it for about 8 years now (I am 29). I worry constantly about everything. I have some good moments, but the past 18 months or so have not been great.

I went into counselling, but I thought it took too much time and just quit (although I think it will help most people). I used to take pills, but my hormones got entirely mixed up and I gained a lot of weight, so I quit that too.

Now I try to cope with exercise and listening to relax cd's. This seems to help a bit, but I fear that if something bad would happen (for example to a person I love or losing my job), I will end up doing something stupid.

Anyway, nobody has an advice that will make you feel better immediately. Try to talk to family, friends and professionals about it. This is not something to deal with alone.

I suffer from it. Not so bad now but used to be worse. Now I just get sweaty and fidgety(like this most of the time right enough) under certain circumstances. At it's worst I got a tight chest, thought I was struggling to breath. Doctors told me it was very mild asthma, don't think it crosses their mind that it could be psychological. Never been to see anyone about it.

I'm a total hypochondriac. I've had what the doctor's called a sinus infection for weeks but y'know I'm convinced it's something fatal as always :p I get a cold and assume I'm on the way out, gave myself a panic attack the other day over a headache. Daft *.

Best thing I find with anxiety is keeping yourself occupied and your mind busy. If it's left to wander too long it'll turn in on itself. Always feel better when with people or doing something involving.

Could be hormone deficiency, did you suffer any head injuries in the accident? think certain head injuries can damage hormone production in the body and the hormone deficiency can cause symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Hi. Yes I'm sure this has something to do with the accident after that i could not get near a hospital, doctors have told me that there was no permanent injuries in my head or anything like that.

I do believe this is more mentally it started a few months ago by worrying about the smallest and dumb things, and all the sudden I started fearing about my health who's is a lot worse, my hopes are that the testing I did comes up good and this will help me forget about health issues at least.

Thanks every one for sharing your stories, not that it makes me feel good but I feel like I'm not the only one and this is some way common.

Hey mate you're one of the few that haven't changed their name lol its good to recognize you from back the. And I do think my problem is linked to that some how I'm right next to my phone all day waiting for that call to hear about the results, the doctors say they think I'm fine and that what I feel on my neck is not bad he said he is 90% sure but I still very scared, I have been going to play football in the evenings and it does help for about 2 hours or so but as soon as I get on my car on the way back weird things start getting in my head, to make everything worse I went yesterday to play and 5 minutes in to the game I pulled a leg muscle and had to come back home I had a break down yesterday after that i feel like everything I try to do to snap out of this doesn't work for me
