    Just found this on planetfootball;

    The guy doesnt look bad, I mean Polish player of the year in '02 and scored against the English! Not too old at 28 but old enough to come with experience. Reckon we could get him for a decent price as he plays for Wisla aswell. Anyone else reckon we should give him a go?

    I've heard nothing but good things about the pole so i hope we do get him, but even if we do i still think Bellars will stay in fact i think the deal is pretty much done.

    I for one, would love to get him in. He has scored many goals against very good teams. He is all for joining us. Hopefully he impresses GS tonight and have him signed up by Saturday. :D

    Is the Bellers deal nearly done? Where did you hear this?

    Celtic ponder bid for Poland striker Zurawski

    WARSAW, June 17 (Reuters) - Polish champions Wisla Krakow are in talks with Celtic over the sale of international striker Maciej Zurawski, the club said on Friday.

    Zurawski, 28, has long been regarded as the Polish league's biggest offensive threat and has attracted interest from Turkey's Trabzonspor and Austria Vienna.

    "We have had initial talks with Celtic," Wisla chairman Janusz Basalaj told Reuters. "For the moment we have no official offer from them, although we may know something more later today."

    Asked whether it was likely Zurawski would go to Celtic, he said: "This is a question of whether he wants to go and whether Celtic's offer satisfies us. It would clearly be a good move for him."

    Polish newspapers reported that new Celtic manager Gordon Strachan watched Zurawski in this week's Polish Cup semi-final, in which he scored.

    He has scored 13 goals in 42 internationals.

    He's a good striker and would be a welcome addition to the squad. Lets be honest both Sutton and BBJ are nearing the end of their careers, hopefully Bellamy will sign, and I would like to see Robbie Keane signed on a Bossman in January. This seems like a lot of strikers, but Sutton has 18 months left, rumours about BBJ won't go away, Maloney and Beattie are facing a make or break season. Zurawski is a well established international player, so playing in the CL should hold no fears for him. C'mon the Hoops!!!

    He is the tenth best scorer in the history of Polish football. Scores with both left and right leg as well as with his head. He's been the scorer of the year twice and the runner-up - also twice. What's more, he is a leader when it comes to assists, year by year: never selfish, always works for the team.
    He is capable of playing as a right winger, a playmaker and obviously as a striker.
    His weak points? There're some - he's very modest and shy. And it takes him a while to get used to new people, places... If it hadn't been for Wisla owner, he'd have left Poland long ago. But he's never been allowed to go. A sort of a priceless prisoner of his current club. Until this year.

    I will be devastated when he leaves Poland. On the other hand, I'd be happy, if he could play for such a great club.

    Hello, I am a Wisla Krakow fan

    Zurawski is a hero at our club. He is a very classy players and is very loyal to his club. He is one of the top scorers in the World Cup qualifiers ( for Europe) as you should remember his goal against England. He is also a top scorer in the Polish league. I hope Celtic sign Zurawski ( but you first must pay 3 MIL Euro and dont be like the Turks who wanted to bargain to much). He is well worth the money and will be a great teamplayer and scorer.
