    Let the people sing,
I'm quite the snooker fan as many will tell by the 147 reference in my username lol; i was very saddened with the news of Alex's death. I have read his book and he has faced an enormous struggle in his life with alcohol, gambling not to mention a troubled, sectarian upbringing from a strong protestant neighbourhood in West Belfast. But for me, he represented a different kind of snooker player, one that wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth and given everything on a plate(as many have had it). Instead for me, he represents any little guy who has a dream, and is willing to do his best to make it happen. He is and always will be the 'Peoples Champion' and may he rest in peace; Alex Higgins: A true Legend who put snooker on the front pages.

i'm sorry but i'm gonna agree with bfast hoopy, although he was a great snooker player the fella was a *,a bitter sectarian idiot.i would drink in laverys quite a bit and the amount of times in my younger years i've seen him get put out of there and for him to threaten the doorstaff with his loyalist connections,he was known as well for stroking his mates for hundreds doing bets, not be missed by me
