Alan Thompson Dick

Time for Thompson to step aside. He's past his best and by playing him we are hindering the developement of young players with real talent i.e Mc Geady + Pearson.
Unfortuneately Thompson is in the Inner Circle (Hartson, Lennon, Sutton) so he will never be dropped.
It was interesting to see him jump on GS after his goal last week. Can you imagine one of the young player getting away with that (not in Inner Circle) or even having the audacitity to try it.

 

You are totaly correct mate get him to * he is a total liability now. When is big Sutty back soon i hope .

 

Would you agree that thompson was actually playing rather well before he got sent off? Now depending on your opinion on whether Thompson should have been sent off (my personal opinion is that it was a yellow) then he is hardly to blame for the defeat. Thompson gives his all in games. Against Bratislava, along with maybe BBJ he was the player who i thought was strutting about gearing players up, playing well, and looked as if he was thinking we should be * this mob off the park. Thompson has a lot left to give to celtic imo, getting on his back and bringing out the boo bhoy mentality from the stands is helping no one, get behind him ffs. We lost yesterday because of the referee(imo), were only two points behind so everything is to play for but we need to help the players by being optimistic and supportive(like real supporters). Keep the faith.

 

Get behind him, I would like to get in front of him and ask him how many times has he been sent of in an old firm game.you certainly cant influence a game from the stand.He's done it to many times time has come and gone for him at CP.

 

or you could ask lovenkrands why he dived, walk up to stuart dougall and ask him why he killed our chances yesterday by sending someone off for their first offence which imo was a yellow card at best. then walk up to thompson and congratulate him for how many times he's won an old firm for us????

 

Scoring a goal often masks a poor individual performance. I personally remember a goal @ the midden (3 years ago) when Thomo cut in from the left and scored with his right foot to make it 2-0 in the last minute. Prior to this he was absolutely terrible. The point being he may have scored the winning goal but the victory had little to with his performance, if everyone had played like him we would have been humped. However due to the goal he was the hero.

 

where you saying this last week when he saved our blushes against falkirk?????????????? to many folks on here are too quick to condem the celtic management and the team, theres a long way to go before the end o the season lets just wait and see eh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

We've barely seen him this year though, can't really judge. Yeah, saved our behinds against Falkirk, and was sent off (injustly ot not, however you view it) yesterday for a stupid tackle. Head up Thommo!

He needs to get his act together if he wants a starting place this year now. He needs to calm himself down a bit.

 

Thomson is like any other player, blows hot and cold. As for yesterday, well he got caught in the adrenalin rush of what is an Auld Firm game, he has been playing poor recently, but does pop up and win us games. I am more disappointed with Lennons reaction at the end of the game

 

I agree if he doesn't screw the nut then get the young bhoys in like McGeady and Wallace

 

wallace is never celtic class imo. mcgeady looks a good prospect for the future but thommo is the man for the job just now. point taken about his agression though, he needs to cool it a bit.

Exactly, and that's what worries me Tbh, I don't see anything in Wallace besides sometimes a good cross, too predictable.

 

legend usually refers to past exploits, this is indeed apt. Pity about the present.

 

I think he is much more beneficial to the tic on the left wing but he has played in the middle for a while now. This has coincided with his poor form and imo it is no coincidence.

I think he has been great in the past, and if played in the correct position, I think he can be a big player in the future.

 

Thomo is a legend but yesterday made my mind up for thomo, i think its time for thomo to sit on the sideline for a while so he can watch for a few games then be bought back into the squad, he shocked me yesterday with tha outragous tackle, there was no need for it and he deserved the red card
