Does anyone else think that Aiden McGeady is playing as good as he did in our 3 in a row season? Cos he won player of the year that season, cos he was amazing & I think this season he is showing that forum again, & not just in the odd game its becoming consistent from him, he's been superb so far this season, & looks as if he has been working on his shooting aswel, so he could get us a few goals this year, be my tip for player of the year :icon_mrgreen:.

Was just ashame he fell out with Gordon Strachan last year, because I think we were deprived of his talent, he kind of had a stop start kind of year & never really got into his stride, but so far he has been impressive & hope he keeps it up :50:

Way too early to be talking about player of the year candidates!!

He's started the season off excellently, now he has to keep it up and continue to improve on both his shooting and his decision making :50:

flashes pf brilliance, but he struggles to keep that going for a any length of time. still don't know what performace you're going to get out of him on any given matchday. he can still be a huge player for us, and when he plays well, so do celtic usually.

I think he's been absolutely flying personally, even in the games we've looked poor he's been our stand out performer.

He has been great this year under TM. He nearly broke the crossbar with that shot on Sunday . Who was it who said McGeady had a weak shot too and no end product. :56:

I think he will be attracting the attention of interested suitors again too

I think he was hyped too soon but is slowly getting there. Under MON and under WGS for his first season and a half he was not a first pick. Not MON's sort of player (neither was Maloney judging by how little he picked him at Villa) and WGS rightly picked Maloney and Naka ahead of him. He then had two and a half seasons under WGS where he was mainly a first pick. In that time WGS improved him in terms of using his pace, playing in position and defensive work. He was a much more rounded player by the end of WGS's reign but he was still a very poor team player. Under Mowbray he has I think by getting Naka's right side spot become less prone to overdooing it and much more of a team player. So, little by little he has become a good player but fans were hyping him far too soon. He still needs to improve his shooting IMO. Its still seriously bad. However, other than that he has finally made it to really being one of our very best players rather than simply a fans favourite who was overhyped.

He is playing well but he has always seeked and not really had consistency. Hopefully this season that final part of the puzzle will come together and he will be SOME PLAYER. Recently we really have relied on him to get us out of a hole, look at that Hearts game last week, he was by far our best outfield player with the most drive aswell. Without him in that game we would have looked lost. I hope Maloney and co can step up and support him abit more, because one man can't carry a team a whole season.

Agree with this, I think he played well against Hearts, Arsenal (at home) and <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:City><st1:place>Aberdeen</st1:place></st1:City> but can’t say he’s been a stand out in any other games!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

Aidens been fantastic this season, still early days tho i think he will be pretty consistent this year with his new free role, rather than stuck out wide all day long.

Also i think it shows on the team when he does'nt play, especially when you look back at the Hapoel game, there was no real class or drive from any of our lot.

He is flying in the league games and was one of very few players that got pass marks in Israel.

When Aiden plays well, Celtic play well, he's that important.

Look how mince we were without him against Dundee United.

I agree he's looking a lot sharper and much much fitter than ever, but..... in my opinion he still gives the ball away a bit too much for my liking but dont get me wrong if he could fix that he would be immense !!!! Keep up the good work son !!

I thought he was really poor at times last season and his attitude really stank. The many stories even our own fans were reporting about him suggested he was a complete * end. However, there is no question that playing on the right now Naka is away seems to help him to pass and cross earlier, fck about less, keep it simpler and operate as a team player. Your right though that it will be a few more months before I believe Aidan has really permananently made the step up.
