    It annoys me that countries are bidding for world cup etc. when the people of that nation are relatively poor.

    South Africa has social problems and many still have a low stnadrd of life, Poland and Ukraine have economical problems but are still spending a fortune on a European championship. Now Brazil. Don't get me started on some of the countries who bid for the Olympics.

    i agree Jim, these countries should spend more money helping the poor (and in Brazil's case getting rid of the trannys) rather than spending millions on the stadia etc
