    Let the People Sing.
Theres just been a thread closed there of a fan having a go at us today with the singing through the silence & I would just like to add this..

Its not put out to affend anyone nor start a fight, its just my view & I think a few would agree, cos its not acceptable, wel at least it shouldnt be

Its not all our fans that think that way.. Its just a small amount & its they them that drag the team down & give it a bad name, it * most of us off, So dont think that Celtic as a whole is like that, Cos it isnt.. I cant defend what happent today & im not gonna try, cos im annoyed by it myself, I know Sky Sports drowned out the sound on the live match, but having heard & seen it back on youtube there is no excuse for that..

The way I see it, Glasgow is in Britain, wither people like it or not, Every country has there own laws & rules, im not saying respecting the solidiers is a rule or a law, but it is something we all do, & if you choose to come over then you should respect that. Its 1 minute of your life that you just shut the * up! Its not hard.. Im not really sure what you get away with saying on here, but really if you didn't want to respect it today then stay away! Thats all you had to do.. All this sectarian & Irish hating British pish shouldnt be taking to the football anyway, you are there to watch & be entertained by a game a * game! A sport, when you start doing all this * its taking to far & yes our club should be ashamed of that, but dont think we are all like that cos we aren't..

    Yes, that's the whole point.

It is a game, a sport. It has nothing at all to do with politics, and certainly nothing to do with a war that happened 90 years ago - so it is an utterly inappropriate venue for a compulsory silence which has nothing to do with football.

the old saying politics has no place in football is ccorrect so why the * is the establishment * bent in forcing the poppy day down every1,s throat any1 wanting to wear a poppy fair play to them but people have different veiws not just celtic fans same as religeon every 1 is entitled to their opinion.paddy mccourt for eg coming from derry i dare say he must have family or freinds who may have been efected with the conflict in northern ireland did he have any say wether he wanted to wear a poppy or not doubt it.as said earlier idiots singing outside does not help our club bur forcing poppy day on all does not help football

Club was let down by a few mindless idiots yet again , I wish they would leave the politics outside the stadium and stop trying to drag our club down to the gutter .

No1 forces you to wear a poppy. But the point in minutes silence is to respect the dead who lost their lives in wars whether they were in the army or not. It is not just the brittish army so get over it. It is just sheer ignorance not to respect the wishes of the vast majority who wish to hold a minutes silence. So the least people can do is keep it shut for a solitary minute of their lives.
To all the fans who did keep it shut and respect others wishes well done.

Im going to put it this way. If Ireland had a minutes silence for the victims of the irish famine or * sunday 1972 and a group of people sang the sash during it would you respect their right to protest?

I know alot of people are furious about the way britian treated the Irish, many british people are too. Lets get this right, this was not a protest against the past, this was to stir * and insult people while they were remembering loved ones that had been killed. These people have brought shame to celtic, the first british club to win the european cup, thats how it should be viewed not as a Irish republican political party.

These people are celtics shame, irelands shame and on par with the rangers fans that stir * too.

Get over it boys and look around. If you are going to do this to celtic , you are not invited.

Ireland's shame when the many of those who disagreed with the minutes silence are Scottish?

yes, of course. I never said the fools were all irish. I said they try to justify it by talking about ireland's history.

I believe that Ireland is bigger than that sort of behaviour, so when these guys do it in the name of Ireland, it brings shame apon the Irish.

I'd probably bet my mortgage on them being mostly if not all 'plastic paddies' as opposed to Irishmen.

You are proberly right most of them could have been plastic paddies, I duno if their were no irishmen involved but as I said earlier, Ireland is better than that sort of behaviour. I should add Scotland is too as you can see from the replys on this forum and the reaction across the country.

These fools have let down their club and the country/countries (Scotland & Ireland) they claim to love yesterday. They did it in no ones name but their own.

Doesn't matter if it was done inside or outside the stadium. If you're at a funeral and someone shouts "I'm glad he's dead" do you ask if they were inside or outside the graveyard by the gates when they shouted it?

It shouldn't have happened , it was a time to remember loved ones that died in the war, end of. It was completely unexceptable and it's not fair on celtic fans that these muppets have disgraced the club again.

Hugh Keevins has just said on Clyde that he has heard that the reason Peter Lawwell was shaking his head was because of something a Falkirk fan had shouted at the Celtic fans during the minute's silence. Not shaking his head at the Celtic fans singing as some people have alleged.
