With hearing Neil Lennon in his press conference yesterday, talking about letting some of the first team players go on holiday or take a couple of weeks off to rest up & so they are refreshed for the Cup Final, & in the mean time give some of the fringe players & players who have been injuried for a while a shot. Wouldn't a Anthony Stokes, Tony Watt partnership be a good strike force for us to go with in the remaining games? & if Hooper is to leave in the summer, it may be a partnership we can use next season in the SPL, think those 2 together would be really good.

I know we will probably bring in strikers in the summer but still a good partnership to have, what do you guys think?

Watt really impressed me until he scored against Barca then it seemed that the expectations increased and nerves set in.

Its been 6 months now and he's had a couple of injuries.

Im hoping he's settled again and he gets a good few games in the coming weeks.

I'm hoping Watt gets more of a run in in the remainder of the season, he's clearly got all the attributes to be a top class player. If he was to become a regular starter next season I reckon we'd be looking at 20+ goals.

I would go with Watt and Stokes myself as Hooper has laid down his tools for the season since January.
Watt and Stokes for the Cup Final, and we will win the Scottish Cup, I am sure of it.

Agreed. Giving him a run of games for the rest of the season should give him a good confidence boost ahead of next season to top of a great break through season for him.

Players shouldn't be getting any rest... They are professionals who are payed to play football no lie on a beach eat and drink and get unfit before a cup final they should be kept focused on the job they do simple!

Don't think it would be a good pairing. Would rather we brought in Russell & another target man type striker.

That's not me saying dont rest a few as in leave out squad or bench for 1 or two games and give young boys a tub out but from that to flying away for some then time no chance!

Why not? They're professionals, they're not gonna lie and get hammered and eat * all day everyday, they'll eat well and recover. The ''they're pro footballers, they don't need a rest'' argument is rubbish in my opinion. If you're training 4 or 5 days a week, and then playing a full 90 minutes once or twice a week, eventually it will take it's toll. Celtic have played 52 competitive games this season, some players will need it. You have to remember the players will be back earlier this summer for the CL qualifiers as well.

I'd rather try out Lassad and Stokes or Samaras and Stokes.

I'd rather we continue playing our top striker personally.

I wouldn't mind trying it out to see how they link up.

Hopefully after summer we will have a choice from Russell, Stokes, Watt and one other striker. I reckon in a few years, Russell and Watt could be an excellent partnership:50:

I really want to see that, especially with Watt. It seems that after scoring against Barca, he just couldn't handle the new level of expectations. Playing him in the remaining games would be a great idea I think. Also giving Stokes a run during it, just gives another plus to the situation. I actually wouldn't mind seeing Hooper not play anymore. ( wouldn't have caught me dead saying that a few months ago :54: ) I think he's made his decision fairly clear that he wants to go to the EPL and that he's done "enough" in this "little league" to get his foot into the door of the sugar daddy league. :47:

Watt could definitely do with a pressure free run out, it's clear the expectation got to him and a little and that's understandable, nothing wrong with it. I'd be all for this considering Lennon saying that he'll give some of the squad a chance once the title's wrapped up.

I wouldn't get carried away. He is still a raw talent and getting 20+ goals in the SPL is not easy. Hooper is only on 16 goals so far in the SPL.

Well you could make an argument that Hooper stopped bothering with the SPL a while ago.
