£10million pound from just being in the champions league, money from sky for being on the tele in the champions lkeague, money from setanta, money from the celtic view, not to mention the record breaking sales of the new all white kit, plus the 53,000 celtic season ticket holders and all we can look froward to is Dion Dublin?? absurd yes we have jarosik, yes we have a couple of good young scots but seroulsy to compete in the cmapions league we need another forward of some pedigree. im fed up of celtic fans always having to hear the same old crap about limited funds. i dont care what anyone says, if charlton atheltic cna even get hasselbaink there is someing drastically wrong. get the finger out dermot and give GS some much needed transfer cash. BTW does any one have any inside news on potential signings??

    cheers bhoys and ghirls:celt_2:

    LB - Petvokic
    CM - Szymikowiak
    FW - Dublin

Szymikowiak I told everyone about a few months ago. I'm 90% sure he is coming.

dublin can get tae * imo..if thats the standard id rather we kept a slow and done hartson than that dublin... big stiff *.
also where is petvokic from team ? i mean we already have 2 poles in the side ... and that looks like another 2 mentioned above that would be 4 ... too many.

the reason why u saw sutton , hartson ,and the likes leaving is because this season strachan is putting his own stamp on the team Dublin would baffle me tho if he comes back...he kept a little last season and got by ....but he got and is still getting rid of a lot of dead wood at the club from oneills days we were left with players at the end of thier carrers and past it yet on huge salarys they had to go...... Strachan i feel dont want big target men as such maybe 1 only if that ... that was martin Oneills style of play ... big hump up the park to 2 big target men ... it was effective but not pretty to watch at times .... however Strachan has made us and is still moulding us into a passing fluent side ya saw glimpses of it last season some of the football was lovely to watch ... as for forward line ... i think he prefers pace over height..tbh.

This situation is way over the top. Im all for putting a cap on wages, holding back on the big transfer fees and trying to clear the debt. That said, there should STILL be money available to bring in better quality than this has been. I dont know if its being skint, players not wanting to come to the SPL or just downright lazyness by the manager, but whatever it is, i will be sick as a dog if we sign this player.

Im not a religious man but im praying for an acceptable conclusion to this story.

i don't know how people are of the opinion that we were good to watch last year, it really does baffle me.

passing the ball about the back line, and then thumping it up front when the oppenents close us down is hardly brazilian style footie.

apart from MON's last season, which sadly is what everyone is remembering him by, his team were great to watch. those celtic teams were great at getting the ball out the wing and getting in quality crosses for the like of larsson was a joy to watch. it was no nonsense fast direct football.

it's all well passing the ball about, but unless you do something productive with it, it's useless and boring.

good to watch at times i stated .. not always.

the only reason oneills side were so good to watch is the messiah Henrik bailed us out 9 times outta 10 imo..

i Agree tho on transfers what have we spent so far ?? reportedly 2mil for Jarosik ..caldwell and miller frees .. riordan reportedly 500k pay off to come early ... so thats a whopping total of 2.5mil in transfers so far ... lol ffsk. Get the cash out Celts we must have at least 4mil left and if we sold petrov that would be even more ££.

we are going backwards,we've signed players with the exception or jarosik and maybe sno who are no better than what we had at the club already.I really hope we get this fixed with a couple of good quality players (but i won't hold my breath)because i see a season of frustration ahead and i don't even wanna think about the CL

Theres no need to go overboard Paddy, to me it looks as if weve got the quality to romp the SPL and progress to the KO stages of the CL. The players weve signed are starting to come onto a game and with a midfield like ours i dont see how people are still scared of the upcoming season.

Doesnt take away from the fact that i'll go absolutely * spare if we get DD back on the books tho.

seriously i mean yes we have a strong squad for spl duty but with the rigours of the champions league we need more experienced quality signings. i mean javier saviola why dont we have a go for him. if GS isnt in to target men, surely a player of his quality would do well at the club. he is suplus to requirements at barca so he wouldnt cost alot. ikts time celtic brought back the days where we had di canio, van hooijdonk, thom and cadete. we are in ten times beter financial condition than then, lets bring in a forward who will really excite the fans and score a bundle!!:celt_2:

And the apologists get after me for getting after the negative fitba wise Lawwell, The Board and majority shareholder, more fans are beginning to see how these people want more fans to dig into their pockets, while they are getting well remunerated, and all the perks, and by the way we WILL find it tough against Rangers this season, and as was said, forget the CL! :47:

so why do u think celtic wont release funds??if they dontwe are gonna stagnate and never get by the first group stages of the champions league. we have so much potential and are quite possibly the biggest supported club in the world. as you say good honest hard working celtic fans are dipping ino their pockets week in week out to support the club but yet no funds are being released. its not good enough. really it beggars belief:shamrock:

Personally I don't mind dion either. He is a good character has a good touch and can stick the ball away. He is not a first choice and if they signed him up I would still expect to see someone of quality join the front men as well.

Surely if Dublin came back he'd only be here for a season. So why dont they try to bring in a younger guy on a season long loan from the Premiership. Guys like Pongolle at Liverpool would score plent in Scotland and it helps till we can get someone esle in

It's sad that we have the same money as a english championship side.
