Breaking the hoops

The Hoops is the Hoops. The peopletha would bewould never change them that much afte theoutcry whenthe allowed the strip with the white bars down the sides. The Hoops for yeas wher 7 hoops and they changedthat for some reason, but as longas it's green and white Hoops then it doesn't matter.

As for changing the badge, it was a great idea changing it to e Celtic cross in '88 but we would nevr have something like this now that we are livingin a politicaly correct world in case we offend another religion that is not Christian. And the $ Leafed Clover is just as unique as teh Hoops are.

A for somene that said about re naming theground, why not, we all moan thatwe are stuckin a back water andnotable to compete financially, so why not sell the stadium name rights to sayNike for £5mill a year fo 5 years, dosn't matter wha name is above the stadim, it will always be PARADISE.

 

It's a strange subject to be discussing.
Personally I would have them playing in the hoops aways from home in Europe too if strips didn't clash.

So I supose that answers where I stand on the matter

 

The first celtic kit was plain white green badge and red shamrock was it not

plus that pic you have their is the old 1950's away top

we should bring that kit back

 

if they drastically changed the strip it would be stupid carry on.and wouldnt/couldnt happen

i believe the furore over the 2001 kit that "broke the Hoops" was nonsense.
its not like they were changed to vertical stripes or anything

for me, its no big deal whether they are technically only horizontal stripes as opposed to "proper" hoops.

 

There are some away tops very nice as that one with black and green stripes and the forest green one from last season. But home top has to be hooped. It is de identification signal of Celtic FC in throuh all europe.

When I wear my celtic home shirt here in Spain, every friend recognise it rapidily. Ok, I have to admit that one of the said "ahh, Glasgow... Rangers". But he noticed my burning face at that moment and rectified!!

Be gutted if they done away with the hoops. You'd be hard pushed to find a tim who says they don't wear their hoops with pride :icon_mrgreen:

they done realy clash at the moment but we keep changing couls we not just change socks and short if its them that clash like manutd only reason we changed was because of the shorts and socks

 

No way should the hoops be changed.its who we are.like someone said you wear your hoops with pride and although it would still be celtic it wouldnt be right wearing something different.as for the away strip bring back the bumblebee next season:icon_mrgreen:

 

That is ridiculous if you choose to get a tattoo and something changes then its your fault not the clubs.

 

The hoops is one of the reasons why we are so famous throughout the world mate.

I've met many english guys down the years who have bought a Celtic top simply because, and I quote - ' Its cool as *!! '

I used to live near to Gola's head office, and I knew a few people who worked there. This strip was from 1990 and was part of a series of examples that were presented to Celtic when Gola were trying secure a contract to supply the kit.
I chose this one because I thought it was the most unusual.
