i personally dont hate the fella , i just dont like him

there are no redeeming features i like about him ( and i mean interviews / his general talk to reporters and to fans )

we can have loads of success and win trophy after trophy and i would congratulate the man whole heartedly , however i just dislike him , no bigoted reasons , not even football related reasons

i just dislike him as a person from watching him over the years , there's a snidey attitude to the man that i dont like in people

i support the team /club & manager , i just dislike strachan as a man , i dont see any issue with that.

Reading on here its asif members must either nut hug him or state they hate him

 

Great post dude, could not agree with you more, I like Boruc he is a great keeper and given his record over the years deserves some slack for his misgivings but the Hibs game had to be a wake up call for him, if not take the money and run "getting bigger than the club" springs to mind, if WGS bowed to the fans and played up to them or the media for that fact then I would not have the same respect for him, the fact that he could easily generate a "bigger feelgood factor" if he wanted too but chooses not too means a great deal to me lets be honest crossing yourself at Ibrox is fun but it is a cheap shot eh............. more power to the wee man

 

But I dont see you posting "Stachan GTF" after every bad match nor do I see you belittling his achievements, there is a huge difference there

im sorry ,but i dont see that from the majority of talkceltic members either,what i see is people that care

this includes everyone who either sees positives or negitives in our celtic .fc, we all care on talkceltic caring is one of the big attractions to the site,

we can all say thing from time to time that are a bit over the top but i would like to think we can have a view to think ,ok that guys just * off at the moment, especailly after a defeat

if some one is relentless in abuse to celtic in any way shape or form they should be rooted out,as thats just causing trouble or to get a reaction

and to dissagree with everything people say is annoying as well

 

I honestly don't believe that the dislike that some sections of our support have for WGS is anything what so ever to do with religion or bigotry. I've been critical of him at times but it's always purely been based on football matters. I was actually delighted when he was appointed as i thought MON had taken us as far as he could & it was time for him to move on, & that WGS was by far the best candidate for the job. In my opinion most of the dislike for him comes from the 35+ age group. These are the guys who remember him being an absolute * (but what a player) when he came to Celtic Park with Alex Ferguson's all-conquering, but detested Aberdeen side of the early-mid 80's. In those days, as a few of the guys on here will remember, the Celtic-Aberdeen rivalry was massive. Indeed at that time, it was not the Huns who Aberdeen hated, but us. WGS was the main man for winding the the Celtic support up. Unfortunately for wee Gordon i reckon there is a section of the support who will never accept him, but not because he's not a Catholic, but because they still see him as being a "wee sheep-*' *!!" Actually, i always thought Mark McGee suffered a very similar problem in being accepted by the Celtic support when joined us from Hamburg in 1986, despite the fact that it was well known that he was a Celtic fan.
