The pound is stronger than the dollar 1:1.36 or something...so it would be somewhere round 2 million pounds or so

Wow, I'd be surprised if this guy wasn't signed after that performance.

Just got back from the game and all I could say is... wow! I knew it would be a good night when Kenny Cooper drilled one into the crowd strait into a little kid and his cotton candy. It looked like a purple explosion and all his food got in the other kids' hair who sat around him... pure comedy gold. The expression on his face was pretty priceless, too.

Kljestan was insane... I'm not sure if you could tell, but he was always in the right position. He did get knocked around a bit, though... which is a bit concerning. But honestly, MLS is one of the biggest hack-fests in the world, so it's not going to be a huge step up in terms of physicality when/if he gets here.

The last goal in particular impressed me... once the ball was in the air, his eyes lit up and he bolted off on that run that eventually ended with his 3rd. The ability to recognize an oppurtunity from that early is lacking a bit in our squad. He also displayed an ability to pick out a nice pass in the final third of the field.

People will come with the, "it was only Sweden B" but honestly these guys are the best and brightest from the Swedish league and it's comparable if not better than the SPL minus the OF. Most of the top Swedish clubs have a lot of quality, and the game wasn't a horrible match... it was actually much more pleasing and technically better to watch than many of our own last games. The fact that he beasted the opposition so well tells me that he can make the transition.

I'd say I've gone from skeptical to very positive about this deal. I've got some pictures of warm ups that I might add later, too.

Get This Bhoy Signed Now, I reckon he will be sheer class.something we lack is a quality free scoring midfielder.

Hopefully we sign him. He won't be playing until next season though. Naka, McGeady and Maloney are all ahead of him.

It looks like he changed a lot of minds last night if you consider the first 5 or so pages of this thread! It went from "don't need him" to "get him signed now!" :icon_mrgreen:

Interview after the game. "As far as Celtic i just took it as a training experience so whatever happens, happens."

Wow he seems excited to wanna come to us :| not impressed by that!

He was put in a tough spot. The interviewer set up the question by saying that he was playing in his current clubs stadium, in front of many of the fans that currently support him and then asks him about leaving them to go to Celtic.

He wants to come, I'm sure he doesn't want to get his hopes up, go on record saying he wants to leave and then the deal falls through and he ends up staying and the Chivas fans are killing him (think about the Renaldo situation at ManU or Ashley Cole at Arsenal a few years back)

That's actually a fairly standard answer... Americans, especially American footballers, are good at saying only what they are supposed to say.. He has interest from clubs in Germany and Holland so he's hardly going to alienate them with an answer. I wouldn't be too concerned by it.
