    Big GC was immense last night i thought. I don't see the problem some people have about him being played as a defensive midfielder he looked so comfortable in there, actually it was one of his best performances this season, and he's had a few crackers.

    The way the guy has turned his game around he deserves all the credit in the world and if he keeps progressing the way he is he has the potential to be up there with the likes of McNeill, Elliott, Aitken, Mjallby guys like that.

    we have a great core, if we can get another solid CB, some full backs, and someone like lubo and larsson wouldn't go a miss neither!

    Have to admit, Caldwell has turned into a decent player. Never thought I'd see the day. Goal wasn't his fault at all.

    I agree but it wont do much for our CBs relationship if you strip one of the captaincy and give it to the other. IMO, Caldwell operates like the team captain but Mick is club captain.

    Caldwell was considered a huge talent up until the year he knew he was coming here and his Hibs form suffered. He is just one of the many who needws to get a season under his belt before he starts showing all of what he can do. In his case injuries etc meant it took a season and a half for him to get a seasons worth under his belt. Many players need a big chunk of games to show what they can do. Right now I think he is as good a CB as we will ever get. Only a lack of pace will keep huge clubs from sniffing around him.

    I have a hunch (based on the fact that the extra year in his contract was activated rather than negociating a new longer one) he will look for a big money move after next season and that would disappoint me hugely. I doubt he is on big money like say Aidan or Naka but I think we will need to offer very decent money to keep him.

    I would be devastated if caldwell left, he said in an interview he wants to stay here for the rest of his career, can't remember where i read it. a lot of people were mocking him after he said it on here.

    Caldwell is one of the stand-out players of the last 6 months and the only one right now who should be Captain, and i am like most of the other folk on here that didn't really fancy him much at first but gave the guy a chance and he's proven to be one of WGS best buys and will prove himself to be a great future Celt.

    Well done 'Heid' keep your head up cause you have nothing to be ashamed about from last night, wrong place wrong time that was all, and i personally thought he was our best player last night too.
