    That's a * great post mate, 100% spot on.

I aint holding my breath though, if the media have anything to do with it it will always be dismissed as the celtic fans not being able to take a joke. * pigs.

I'm glad people have shed some light on this because I never saw what was offensive about the song.
But being Scottish and in no way Irish, I don't know if there's any point in me singing it even though I do think it's a good song.

Problem is saying FTQ is pretty similar to FTP. They both are undemocratic heads of churches, both are Medieval figureheads for instituations with loads of blood on their hands from all the stuff under the crown to the Spanish Inquisition. FTQ and FTP both offend loads of people and that is the reason why both should not be shouted at in Scottish football grounds.

fairly spot on, Alot of people take offence to FTP as when uited fans sang it yet it seems acceptable to say FTQ. i couldnt give a rats about either nobs chanting FTP doesnt offend me in the slightest and I also like belting out the extras in Willie Maley too albeit not in CP.

I also wouldnt mind hearing BOTOB or sean south at matches, they do not glorify any modern day paramilitries and the IRA there about are no more terrorists than george washington or William Wallace however if the club dont want them sung then thats fair enough. I understand their viewpoint but playing LTPS before every match is fairly ironic to say the least.

What would singing FTQ actually achieve?

I love Irish music because its full of life.
I love Celtic because they're feckin awesome.
But I hate the twisted connection between the two.
"The music of their native land"?
    Is that not the Proclaimers????????????

Right, because no football fans ever sing songs to wind up their rivals.

    Rather be childish than ignorant.

Like what for instance? That we exist to fuel hatred through sectarianism? Or that the players play their hearts out for 'the cause'?
No way. The club I have supported for nearly 50 years is a football club.
    Unfortunately, there are others.......:31:

I know it gets played at home games now and I love it althogh it could be a bit faster as the crowed end up going waaaaay ahead of the lyrics

however the second half of the second verse is changed because the club finds it too dodgy

If you say so, were football fans not rugby fans, its part of the game.
