Will Hearts be able to hold on throughout the long, cold, harsh Scottish winter? apart from their starting 11, they don't have much in back-up. we don't either right enough, but hopefully GS will be able to add in the transfer window, plus we've got the likes of virgo/wallace/mcgeady/hartson etc there, even "magic" to come back from injury. plus...will we ever see du wei?

personally i dont think hearts will hold out for 1st place though i may sound a bit cocky here but it'll be either them or rankgers for 2nd/3rd place i really do think the key to winning championships is the right size and quality of aquad which i think we have (thereabouts) and no-one else in the spl does

i originally thought they would start falling away next month but now i'm not so sure. they've shown they can compete with us, injuries and suspensions may be the deciding factor. And the next manager obviously.

February will be the month they fade. Burley loss is huge, and if Bobby Robson and Nevia Scala are the two main contenders to replace him, theyre up the creek. Skacel will lose his form as the conditions of playing surfaces deteriorates, and injuries and suspensions will come along.

Theyve put up a great fight so far, but although they have a talented squad, theyve never been put under serious pressure. theyre riding on the crest of the wave at the minute, but when the nittygritty is needed, i reckon theyll lose their footing.

I think a few people are missing the point here. The fact is they only need to hold out until January because they are gauranteed to strengthen their squad then.

they have no experience of coping with the pressure of contesting a championship and i doubt january will change that.

Well they could get beat on saturday against Hibs+Hearts play on Wednesday as well this week against Kilmarnock they put a good fight up against us bhoys,So here's hoping they get beat.Hibs have started 2 play a lot better now+they will want to stuff them at easter-road with Hearts winning the first derby 4-0.I think there will be three teams in it at the end hopefully not Rangers but Hibs+Hearts,But with George Burley leaving can they hold out maybe not,But if Bobby Robson does take over i can see them there untill the end of the season!

i think hearts will b an interesting team 2 watch especially with Burley leaving, him and Hartley were quite close an i dont think hes happy his manager left so maybe he might follow, or not prefom at the top standard. so with these changes maybe they will drop some points, they were close 2 loosing at park head anyways

Hearts have proved that they CAN hold out, by coming to Celtic Park and leaving with a point, beating rankers aswell, but they won't hold out.

The next couple of games will be critical in Hearts campaign. Pressley is out for their next league encounter and their goalkeeper is now being linked with a move to Newcastle plus it looks like much of their squad are fuming about the Burley saga. The pressure is on, but give them credit, they lost their manager two hours before a game, and won 2-0 after being down to 10 men ok it was Dunfermline who are not by any means playing well, but it shows that Hearts are believing in themselves and are willing to tough it out. If Romanov brings in the right man for the job at Tynecastle and they can get to January without losing too many players and perhaps even in 2nd place, with some new faces (and they have not done too bad in this area as of late either) then IMO Hearts can still be up there and mount a challenge.

Depends on who they manage to attract as a manager. May even consider that some of the players that are doin the business for them at the moment are only on loan until January. Marseille are struggling in 9th place in the league, I think they may be reluctant to extend Rudi Skacel's loan deal.

Hearts have a decent team, they are capable of winning the league no doubt about it but i don't think they will.
