I was in Asda earlier & clocked that they had a wee range of oysters for sale.
So .... whats the best way of opening them ? I enjoy all types of seafood & tried them last year & enjoyed them.

    Lemon with salt ??

Try them with lemon, or lime, but my favourite is a little dash of tabasco, MMMMMMHHHHHHH OYSTERS!!!!, On opening them be careful not to slice your hand, best way, hold them in a tea towel, get a small parring knife, and put the knife in the space and gently wiggle it about and cut the muscle at the back of the oyster, you should have no problems.

Use a proper oyster knife to open them much easier :86:
can get them on ebay for a few quid, oysters are also delicious done in the oven for 10 mins, finley chopped chillies sprinkled on top a few drops of tabasco in the oven mmmm :icon_mrgreen:

I agree Lemon is the best, but a tad of tabasco does the treat too.

There's a wee hinge you point the knife into & wiggle - be very careful & use a teatowel as described before, when the knife is in slide & wobble it around the edge until it opens.

Take the flat part off & your left with half shell, unlodge the oyster with the knife (it's still attatched to the shell by a wee muscle), squeeze lemon & fire it in yer gub.

Wee bottle of Cava & * the missus stoopid!!

This has to be the classiest thread that has ever been on a football forum!

Love oysters, agree with all said above, wee splash of lemon or tabasco and watch your fingers!
