    Hi all,

I was thinking about this today, a Celtic friendly at Croke Park, after hearing Peter Lawwell talk about it at the AGM. I know they were talking about it for a Tommy's tribute. But it got me thinking (Im dangerous when i think, i know!) with the arrival of the Commonwealth games in 2014? and with Celtic Park playing host to the opening cermony, do you think the main stand will be renovated and brought in line with the rest of the stadium?

But what i was thinking, if there is a game a croker, would it be a smoke screen, to see wether Croker could play host to a full stadium when celtic play? Would it be possible, with the stadium to be renovated, that Celtic might be thinking of using Croke park as their "home" for a season as the work is carried out?

What would the scottish based fans think of the travelling and would you go?I know a lot of people in Ireland follow Celtic, so i dont think it would be a problem filling the stadium week in week out.

Would this be a way for Celtic to give something back to their Irish fans and roots and help Celtic indulge in that huge Irish American market Lawwell and Reid were talking about?

Playing at one of the best stadiums in the world and at the capital of ireland for a season?Or maybe it could be are answer to the EPL'S 39th game?

    Just a thought, opinions please

    I really don't think so.

Last time the stadium was renovated we went to Hampden. You can't just dump all the loyal season ticket holders and say "we're off to Dublin next year".

I thought you were going to suggest us playing a friendly at Croke Park which i think may well be on the cards, perhaps against Ireland or an EPL team like Liverpool.

I have my doubts about the rest of the stadium being redeveloped anyway, i just don't think there is the demand for tickets.

I think the GAA would allow it, so long as they were able to keep their september schedule. All they are interested in is the money

Did Lawwell not say that it would have to be top opposition?were do liverpool fit into that category, lol.

Redeveloped yes, but more of tidy up, but certainly add another tier to the the main stand, as we cant knock it down, its listed isnt it?

You obviously havent been to Croke Park if you think its a shitehole....

How do you make out that the GAA are still backward??? "Foreign games" have been played in Croker the last couple of years.....

Someone has an anti-Gaa agenda i think.....

Its not a shitehole I was just talking * because I don't watch the GAA, not antiGAA or anything just don't watch it.

They've only played a few foreign games there because there was no other option and it wasnt without opposition, was surprised when that Rugby match against England was given the go ahead.

Doubt they'd change the stand tbh, as I doubt the club would allow it, and also, that's where all the athletes will enter, they aren't exactly gonna enter in the turnstyles are they?
