Amazing, no one knew who was on their side and everyone ran after the ball. It resembled a stramash of mucky limbs in a cartoon ball of the type you'd see in the Beano.

Maybe we can attribute the state of Scottish football just now to those Summer day's :icon_mrgreen:

i miss being able to go most places without seeing zombie junkies everywhere you.

i also miss playing hunts, hidey, cheggys, catching frogs, sideys, climbing everything that i could, chappy and lighting fires in the woods.

Brilliantly put:50: All of them for me as well. Life was more exciting.

Only thing I don't miss was the pressure to lose the virginity.

Going for miles with the gird to the posh parts of Glasgow to rake the middens for lux.

Hudgying the Dingys, buses and lorries.

Wrapping ropes or wire around the polis boxes when the f####rs were inside, then stoning it. Then laughing from hiding places as there mates would come and let them out.
Dementing the local undertaker by opening his door and asking for any empty boxes.

All worh a good kick up the * eh. :56:

walking the railroad tracks far into the woods not caring about anything except finding boyish adventure

you know, spying and tracking wild animals, spotting interesting trees to climb, building (suspect) woods shelters, playing down by the river, paying no attention whatsoever to the time, trying my best not to hear my mum's call to come home in the fading summer light

Innocence, ignorance, naivety etc. Obviously at the time I couldn't appreciate how brilliant it was not to have to worry about anything or have any responsibilities. I have so many good memories of basically just messing about with friends, spending whole days playing hide and seek etc. during the summer and loving it. We also used to play this brilliant wee game where you started at the bottom of the street making your way through eveyones back gardens until you eventually got to the end without being caught:56:

The innocence and the fact you didn't have a care in the world. The fact that no falling out with friends ever lasted more than half an hour and unsavoury incidents were forgotten.
    Running mad around the park.
Going to visit relatives and spending the full day playing with their kids.
    Football, you played it everywhere.
Coming home from nursery, eating a boiled egg with toast while watching Sesame street, then having a nap.
Primary school, the easiness, and the fun.
The fact you thought you were mature and knew it all when you were 10.

    Edit:
Found this on a friends bebo blog, ironic considering the thread i just posted in.

    Do you remember when?
..Getting high was on a swing
..The most painful thing in the world was scraping your knee
..The only thing that got broke was your toys.
..Race issues were who could run the fastest
..The oldest people in the world were your grandparents.
..The best treat was getting sweets
..The only girl in the world was your mammy
    ..Mistakes could be rubbed out
..Your future began with "when I grow up I want to be a.."
..You only cried when you fell over,
Life was simple and carefree, but all we wanted to do was grow up!
