He's still going to have to get to grips with playing in the derby games, he's not won one yet. :38:

I've always like him, always thought he'd be a class player. I also like how Strachan has handled him in terms of making him sit deep and throwing him around the midfield a bit to gain experience of other positions. It certainly seems to be working.

Brown is yet another example of how players often need a season to settle in. I think he is doing well for a young guy in the lynchpin position. He is coming on to a very decent bit of form. Plus I think I now see what he gives us - he is a dynamo that wears down other teams midfields. We have seen the same long bedding in period with Caldwell, Hartley, Sammy, Petrov, etc and remember how Hartson couldnt score in a brothel for months. Loovens will need patience too. He looks like a player who has all good basic skills - can tackle, decent control, good in the air etc but he will take many games to get a sense of positioning and partnership together.

    Bang on.

Used to get sick of folk saying "Strachan doesn't know where to play him", "playing him out of position" etc. It was quite clear that Broon was a real raw talent, but one that would need a fair bit of work to temper the steel.

How do you get a guy who can be a bit of a loose cannon to learn his responsibilities to the team? Give him a lecture? No, you let him experience first hand the responsibilities of the other players around him.

Been saying this for some time, but he will be a huge player for us one day.

:50: Hes one of our only chances on Tuesday if hes good and riles them up then we have a chance. Get in Broony and give them tackles

christ he scores one goal and hes the next superstar ... lets not do this because we will build up our hopes on brown and his form might drop and people will be calling for his head again lets just wait till may before we say aye well worth the money or nah never worth it

His form is encouraging, nothing more. I thought against Villareal he was our best player. I still think there is twice what he is giving at the moment within him. But i think the potential is there for all to see. Hopefully he is about to start delivering.

    What strange logic.

He's visibally improving and starting to look worth every inch his transfer fee yet he should be punted pronto?

I think i know what he means. Because of his high price tag WGS has felt like he has had to play him even though his performances last season (2nd half anyway) were not good enough.

If he cost, say, a million or less then i think he would have been dropped last season sooner.

I'm not so sure; Gravesen, Balde, Jarosik? All high wage earners and if he didn't think they were good enough they were dropped.

He did drop him last year in the run in but he had a lot of personal problems to contend with. I thought he should have been dropped after the last Old Firm game as well but his performance's over the past 4 weeks or so, for club and country, have been solid verging on brilliant.

Still facet's of his game needing improved but he's on the right road at last!

I think there could be a number of answers for their dropping: non of them cost anything near what Brown cost. He doesn't like Balde's style of player, i think the other two were on pay as you play deals and Graveson clearly didn't obey tactics.

I've said from the start i think Brown could turn into the new Reno Gattuso and i'll be delighted. I do think he was kept in the team a bit too long last season and i think part of the reason was because he is WGS's record signing.

The guy now looks as if he is enjoying his football again ,and didnt he lap up the goal yesterday ,i said a couple of weeks back ,if he took a second to look about him he would be a class player ,he is now doing that and its paying off for him .

Celtic paid a lot for brown and thats pressure right away ,this guy seems to have been going through a lot in his personal life ,but now he seems more settled and playing with crossas the 2 of them compliment each other ,long may it last.

He's had some great peformances this season and a lot of them have been for Scotland v Iceland, Northern Ireland and Norway where he was man of the match. Also he played very well in Villareal, Motherwell and has been our best midfielder so far imo as well as popping up to score a couple. He's getting better with every game:50:

But i would say brown has still got a lot to do to convince people thats hes the real deal ,what he is doing just now is good ,but i want him and crossas to run the midfield and if he can add goals to his game ,which he had done before with hibs ,then we can say hes a player .

Yes I think we can expect more and a better return of goals per season from a guy who plays every game. However if he's playing the Lennon/Lambert role then I wouldn't expect much in this department.

His best yet was 8 with Hibs although I always say Celtic and Rangers players should score more than the rest of the SPL players.
